OK reading the oither thread about 'which US city' has brought back good memories about going to florida. I'm thinking about booking a holiday in disneyland village and i'm on the site now but looking at the hotels there doesn't seem to be much in the way of bars?

I want to be able to drink until 2-3 in the morning and maybe go to some sort of club.

Anyone know which resort in disneyworld is best? Are there many bars in there?

If you want the night life you will have to stay in Tampa or clearwater
there is Ybor city just outside of tampa.

Orlando has a few bars on Idrive nothing that good and it costs more in Orlando.
Why dont you rent a hiouse on a golf course in Pasco county
and hire a car and see Florida?

Downtown Disney or Universal CityWalk are where you want to be looking. Haven't spent any time in Downtown Disney but CityWalk has loads of night-time stuff. Not cheap though, especially now.

All the resorts have bars, not sure what time they are open til tho. You can get free transport from the disney resorts to downtown disney where there is bars and clubs.

I recently came back from Florida, although I stayed in a villa. When I visited the parks I'd often jump on the monorail to the resorts to chill out at the pool bars of the Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Contempary. The Polynesian was my favourite out of the lot.

IM GOING TO FLORDIA FOR TWO WEEKS WITH MY BEST MATES! WERE ALL 21 AND GONNA GET WRECKED OUT OUR 'EDS MATEEEEEE!

Seriously. Im Excited...

Downtown disney for bars / nightlife...

I stayed in Animal Kingdom and loved it last month... Planning to go back and stay in the Polynesian in 2 years.

Is the transport running 24 hours a day? And can you binge it till early in the morning and then find a pool to pass out next to?

And let me get this right, downtown disney is a section in the resort, you don't actualy have a hotel there and you travel from your hotel to it on internal monorail?

Pool, generally no. Most places seem to close them at around 10PM to prevent inebriated people passing out and drowning in them. :p

And I agree - it's a horifically expensive way to go on a bender. You can do that at home. If you're going on holiday, do holiday things, not drunken British lout things.

Ok but are there places to sit outside through the night? I don't like the idea of going to bed at 12 o'clock. I want to sit out with a bottle of vodka/stella and take in the florida heat and sky, maybe meet talk to people as well.

How can you get away from them if you're going to be one yourself? :)

Staying out late at night isn't a problem. Just bear in mind that Orlando is very family-oriented, and a drunken fool falling about the place might not go down too well.

I do intend going all round disney world but I still want to drink at night and do the sociable things.
