The Samsung OmniaHD i8910 ... this NEEDS it's own thread.

ok well mine is going back asap. For me the o/s is a pain in the butt. When I'm outside I can't see the display with sun out. Still getting 'system error' too

isn't there an icon that says "update software" or firmware ? so if you connected it to the internet via WiFi can it check for available updates automatically or do you have to use the PC studio software ?
 
and when a new symbian software is released, can you update directly or do you have to wait for samsung to customize the new edition to fit on your omniaHD ?
 
is anyone having problems with the battery after taking a few calls the battery is running very low after being on charge last night...not impressed
 
i have put mine on ebay the wife needs a contract so she can have the contract should get £600 for it, put that away for the new iphone if released if not ill stick with my iphone 3g im trying to like it but to no avail iphone wins everytime .orange have killed this phone imo so much left out .
 
What else would you say orange have left out apart from the on the spot upload to youtube facebook etc

Also, orange give you 7 says to see if you like the phone. Does that mean you can send the phone back and choose another or does it mean you have 7 days to cancel the whole contract?
 
Well orange have mucked up YouTube more than that. Often I like to watch YouTube videos on my iPhone over wifi. When I do that it's not that compressed which is right 'cos I'm not using o2s bandwidth and it's like watching your tv. When I'm on 3g it's compressed which is fair enough

Now on the omnia when I go on wifi to watch a YouTube vid it's still compressed which I'm not impressed with. It's my bandwidth I should have that removed and watch it nicely. Also the YouTube compression is nasty. I reckon they removed the YouTube icon 'cos even with compression they're thinking peeps are going to hammer their bandwidth and discouraging it.

I'm sure lots of people will like the phone but not for me.

Regarding the 7 days trial if you send it back you still have option over contracts eg. Different phone different contract etc.

Okay, I couldn't resist any longer, so the phone is now mine.

Just thought I'd answer a couple of things I'd seen around the web that are wrong.

-There IS a vertical qwerty keyboard when typing a text message.
-You CAN access the web through wireless

If anyone else wants anything answered, just ask :).

My phone is orange branded, bought on contract through Phones4U, so far I love it, I've had no stability problems, the screen is simply AMAZING and overall the responsiveness and speed are definately up to par IMO, but I've not owned (but have used) and iPhone before.
 
Mine was working by the time I got home, having one slight problem that I cannot send any text messages. I can receive and send calls, and receive messages, but I can't send them, very wierd.

call em after 24hrs. my battery keeps going low so sending back tuesday. got used to it a little now but i still dont think its mind blowing as it was expected.

I call them - says my number isnt recognised lol. :(

n/m phoned their broadband number lol got it sorted.

Did you check operator outgoing Service Centre?

Are you sending message as text?
In the options you should be able to define it. If you want to send'em as text, Fax, Pager and so on. (I know, my English is horrible, but I'm from Italy, sorry :()
 
Damn, thanks any way :).

It's really wierd, it would make more sence if I couldn't receive calls or texts either, but everything works, just not sending texts.

Could anyone using this phone on Orange copy their centre number onto here for me please?
