So I got fed up with my Vectra, wanted something completely bargainous to run around in as I only do 19-20 miles a week with the odd longer trip.

My third Rover lol, this time it's a coupe. Unfortunately no pics yet but will get some up tomorrow.

1997, 1.8VVC, 59k miles, just had cambelt changed, tidy on the outside, bit tatty on the inside, just needs a few bits and pieces that will cost less than £50 to sort out. Not too bad as only cost £650 :)

If it has no service history and a 5 digit counter then I'd say it's got 159k miles. If it's got a 6 digit counter then it's clocked. 59k is early even for a Rover to start getting tatty.

Well done! :p

Finally joined the cool club eh? get yourself signed up on http://forums.mg-rover.org, really good community for maintainence and just a damn good laugh.

The VVC is an awesome engine, watch your coolant and temp guage and fix any issues pronto and all will be good. Also listen for noisy VVC mechs, these can go after 50k but usually last well over 100k.

BTW, if you join, I'm mattyprice4004. :)

Edit: For bits and pieces, try the For Sale section on the site. I've got some monumental bargains! :D

Quite a confident statement with pretty much nothing to back it up with. How can you make such a bold statement with such little information?

By tatty I mean the leather hasn't been treated, there's a slat missing on one of the vents. Any somebody has taken a door card off without replacing it properly. All nothing major.

I'm already registered over on MG-Rover from my previous two :) under the same name.
Anyway to the pictures....

True there are some discount benefits too. £12 is hardly much to ask I guess.

I'm a member, didn't think it was half bad for the stuff you get, proper sig, avatar, 256 PM Inbox, plsu discounts on stuff.

Hope to see you there!

Oh and there is a new social app plugin just been set up, and it has a HG Failure Club :p

Good car, I had one at the start of last year that I bought blind off ebay for £495 with 12 months MOT but no tax.

Had over 130k on the clock, ran it for 6 months, didnt do any maintainance on it at all, just changed the front discs when I got it as they were warped.

Thrashed it regularly and sold it on for pretty much the same price.

Good engine, looks OK considering the age and handles OK too as the K series is nice and light.
