Hi all

just done a win2k system for a friend and was gonna put messenger on it. Is there even a version of Messenger that works with Win2k and if so what one is it?

Cheers

7 or 7.5 probably, i remember having to change that to win2k compatability in XP to keep it, as if not it had to update to 8 which i didn't like.

Wow Win2000, any reason why you are running that? I would have thought most machines running 2000 would run XP, maybe with some of the graphic features turned off.

That was a great OS though shame its a bit dated now.

Many of the computers in the NHS run Win2000.

cheers all. I put v7 on it it. Seems to work.

It's an ex corporate Dell and I just refreshed it all up and installed the essentials, (sounds, pictures, browser, msn etc).

What's wrong with 2k? It's fully patched up, runs rock solid, quick. (P4 with 512Mb)

I still have a win2k machine that's been running for 5 years.

about 3 years ago I gave my nephew a win2k machine and that is still going strong despite hundreds of demos and crapware installed on it.

Win2k really is a very solid OS and takes a beating.

Besides I don't have any XP's i can install on it. It was either put 2k back on or whack Ubuntu on it...
