Coolermaster Hyper Z600 CPU Cooler

If you're spending that much cash (£40 + 1/2 fans) you'd be better off with a TRUE or noctua. They'll cost about the same, and perform better.

TRUE = Thermalright Ultra Extreme

You'll also need to buy a 120mm fan if you get one of those. Best ones are the Noctua NF-P12's

Noctua's cooler is similar to the Thermalright one but not quite as good. I used to have the Noctua one until this weekend when I managed to get a free thermalright. The noctua one does come with a Noctua NF-P12 free though! There is probably only about 2-3C difference between them so they are both very good.

Nice one dude

cheers.

EDIT:

Would i have the fan blowing air into the cooler or away from?

Well, you can either have it in a push/pull configuration which would need two fans (one mounted on either side of the heatsink, one pulling air from the front of the case and the other pushing air toward the back of the case), or alternatively just use one fan and have it pulling air from the front/pushing air to the back of the case.

I only have 1 Noctua Fan on my Thermalright and it keeps the temps (q6600 g0 @ 3.6ghz) during prime95+ @ 50C under load. My case is an antec 900 and I have replaced all the standard fans bar the 200mm one with Noctua ones.

Push pull for optimal performance, but naturally it means double the fan noise.

I find that with a TRUE there's no need for push-pull in most cases, unless you're going for an insane overclock

Im going for the smoothest running system ever, ill probably overclock it a little..

Push and pull will probably do me reet, as for noise i doubt ill care too much.

What case do you have? If you are in the market for a really good air cooled pc then I can highly recommend the Antec 900 + TRUE + Noctua case fans. My pc is currently idling at 22C on all four cores running at 3.6Ghz and doesn't get past 53C after 10 hours of priming.

With the Antec case you don't need push pull because the TRUE sits right next to the rear exhaust fan and acts in a push/pull config anyway.

Pretty much the same as spooks here - antec 300 and a couple of sharkoon fans, noctua on the TRUE

20c idle (or room temp, if a warm day), 40c (45c on a warm day) load, also overclocked to 3.6gHz - no idea what spook's CPU is, mine's only tri-core though which likely explains the extra few degrees on his.

:D I have a 900 :D

Well don't bother with two Noctuas on the TRUE, just replace the three 120mm case fans with Noctua ones. 1x NF-P12 for the TRUE, 2x NF-P12's for the front of the case and 1x NF-S12B FLX for the rear (don't think ocuk do the nf-s12b though).

cheers
