Benidorm, is it really that bad?

Treat it as some kind of "urban survival" weekend, a bit like what Bear Grylls does, but you can actually admit you're staying in a hotel.

PK!

It will be OK for a stag do.

But,

In my experience, Benidorm is the Mos Eisley spaceport of Spain. It is an absolute hole that is infested with football shirt wearing Two Can van Damme Brits who think that Spanish culture is British bars, The Sun, full English breakfasts and shouting and vomiting.

I am sorry to say that when I was there last the highlight of the holiday, which was a lads from work jaunt for a few days, was a couple of violent, drunken Brits receiving a short lesson in Spanish paramilitary justice from the Guardia Civil.

I had to go to Tennerife on a lads holiday last year, it was an absolute hole of a place but the company made it decent.

If you have sun, good company and easy girls are in abundance, you can make a decent time out of any where in a week imo.

One should have no trouble in Benidorm.

It is easy to get girls in abundance and return to visit Dr Scratch at the GUM clinic with your parts honking like a dairy farmer's apron.

I personally have never had any trouble like that, which I put down mainly to rubbering up, but some story's would really make you heave. (and added to the entertainment out there)

Well it seems I have to go to Benidorm (shudder) for a mates stag-do, despite my best efforts at persuading him to go somewhere (anywhere) else.

I'm expecting beer-bellied middle-aged yobs, spending their days greased up with chip fat and their nights fighting and puking.

Is there actually anything worth doing there? Or am I going to lose 4 days of my life in a complete armpit of a place?

I'm guessing it really is that bad.

I've never been and I would never want to go.

If you want to have a good time check out playa de san juan, lots and lots of bars hot chicks and 20kms from benedorm, if your go to pacha benidorm ku etc.. Carretera Valencia-alicante KM 122, there the clubs , KU opposite pacha rocks 3am the female dancers go naked. theres another place near playa san juan but you need a car lots of night clubs that are 48 hours full of spanish chicks.
and you can get the boat from denia to ibiza.

Haha I love the Guardia, went to Magaluf 5 years ago and ended up chanting loads of football songs to some gang of welsh lads and the Gauardia turned up so we started singing against them, I would never do such a thing in the UK but the heat of the moment and the alcohol takes over, they charged at as with batons flying and pepper spray, manage to slip down a side street and get to the beech, pure buzz but it was stupid when I look back.

A lucky escape.

The Guardia Civil are not bound by the small matter of the Police And Criminal Evidence Act as cops are over here.

They pezzle people first and ask questions later.

Yeah, was walking back to the hotel near the main strip not far from BCM one night and could hear a couple of lads shouting and one kicked a bin over and the Guardia saw him do it and he got his baton out and whacked him across the face, my mate wanted to go and steam him but I said "you can i ain't helping" so we walked home and the lad was proper smarting from the hit. :D

I go cracking onto 3 of them who were at the bar having a drink in full uniform in 2007 in Magaluf. I think it was Lennon's bar but I may be wrong.

They asked what I did for a living and when I told them their attitude totally changed and the hard exterior vanished. They then said their goodbyes and got into a squad car and drove off.

Some perk.

Aye, they are cowards really but they can get away with it, too much money is made from the Brits in Spain, can see them being very corrupt.

The beach is in really good condition, they look after it these days. Not my sort of place really.
