A couple of years I was told I should try Mead with me liking Medieval stuff. I tried it and I fell in love with it. It tastes wonderful the thing is I only ever see it specialist wine stores. Why is such a great drink so hard to come across in every day places such as supermarkets, off licenses or Bars.

If anyone else loves mead could you spec me a great brand that produces Mead with a good body. I love it but I'm a noob.

Mead is the one drink that is guaranteed to give me a raging hangover. I hardly ever suffer, but involve Mead in the equation and I'm dooooooomed.

Easy enough for me to get it - just nip into the Tynemouth Priory gift shop :D

Hmmm, I fail to see how something containing the vile, sugary rankness that is honey can possibly taste anything but foul.

I'll give some a try just to see...

Wnhat does it taste like?
It tastes like a very sweet fortified wine. I'm not fond of it at all.

They sell several brands at the local beer festival which was on last week. Unfortunately for some reason I can't remember the names of any :o

We made our own last year, gave myself some nice yeast poisoning and near poo'd myself in a club.

Our brews were very hit and miss but we did a nice summer fruits one and a good exotic one. It really is quite fun to make yourself, I would recommend it.

Only had it once....tasted very strongly of honey (duh!). The only way I could describe it....alcoholic honey.

Nice, but it wouldn't be my staple choice.

As far as stockists go, haven't noticed any in Notts as of yet. I picked up my bottle when I was dragged to some Wiccan/hippy festival with the Mrs. Of course, I made a bee-line for the first available alcohol source.
