*usually* on a bath the hot is positioned the furthest away from the easiest access. think of the children and all that.

Hot should be on the left and cold on the right, it's the natural order of things. Although in saying that I think my parents house has the order reversed, my dad did a lot of the plumbing and he's a lefty.
