Tap water

Any modern home and any newly fitted water system needs to have a sealed tank to stop anything from entering it, they have to be screened to allow air in/out and air are black to stop the growth of allege.

You would think the water in the loft is like the water from the Ganges river

Drinking water that is contaminated with Legionnaires is not going to kill you, you need to inhale it into your lungs for it to take effect. Its more dangerous when its heated or around a hot source.

And http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/78890.php

A total of 163 cases of Legionnaires' disease were reported in the first half of the year, between January and June 2007...

Phew, i'm suprised we are all not dead!:p

As for the OP, yes to an extent, but the real question is "why does water from a tap taste soooo much better than from a glass?":D

Do you just make things up for the sake of it?

I used to work for a Facilities Management company and have closed Schools down in the past because of contaminated water due to Legionnaires.

Its not though is it, its only when it becomes vapor, drinking cold water with Legionnaires is not going to kill anybody, shutting down any place that has contaminated water is just common sense, you need to find out the cause and fix it.

Dont take my posts out of context.

I agree with you, it's not standing water that is the problem, it's spray/vapour.:)

I have found dead wasps floating in my cold water tank (along with some sediment at the bottom), and it is certainly possible for things such as pidgeons/rats to fall in if the lid is not quite on properly!

YES. I don't know what it is, always seems colder and fresher from the bathroom tap.

Agreed, it does taste colder and fresher, saying that it may be because the only time i really drink the water from the bathroom is after i have brushed my teeth.

Prefer the water from the kitchen to the bathroom, it maybe that i rarely drink from the bathroom tap though so im not used to it.

Both taste the same in the flat I am living in here in Prague.

Back home in Aberdeen, the kitchen tap water usually tastes about the same as the bathroom tap water

Fortunately I have mains plumbed to all the cold water taps round the house which is great, it means I can drink the water from any tap. In my old flat there was a water tank and only the kitchen tap had a direct mains feed. As such I'd never drink the water but from the kitchen. As for taste, they both taste the same.

Back at my parents house the bathroom water tastes so much better than any other but thats because the bathroom is in a new extension so all the pipes leading to it are newer I think.

In my house I always get moaned at for drinking out of the bathroom tap.. Everyone says its stored in a tank in the loft. But we have a bedroom in the loft. There is no tank. People don't seem to understand..
