Supreme Commander 2

Only discovered SC and FA like two months ago so I'm still loving FA atm, playing it on weekends with me and mates vs sorian AI. Do want!

Yes, I read that interview with Chris Taylor.

Interesting read. Who'da thunk it, the first Magazine I buy in a LOOONG time and it actually has an interesting article inside.

If I remember rightly did he say he had felt the game had become too bogged down with micro management?

Also, what will the Square Enix tie-up mean? Just the publisher or more?

There's a load o discussion on the official GPG forums about this, loads of people are already thinking it is going to turn out awful. I couldn't be bothered to read the whole thread mind :p
I believe it said they would simplify handling the economy, ie just make it easier to manage. Doesn't necessarily mean it will be less complex, just more tools to control it. (I hope this is the case!)

start saving now for the most uber xxx core cpu , omg ram an the , the newest all singing dancing VGA card out in 2010 !!!!

iam sure it`ll still cripple it aswell :(

hope ta good god they make this 64bit an multi threaded as possible !!!

first penny`s in the jar ;)

There is a mod for vanilla and FA whereby you can increase the unit cap to 5k per player....... which is insane. It does eat pc though if you are playing with AI, but very cool if you are playing over lan with a couple of buddies.

I wonder if they are going with Chris Taylers original plan of making it 64bit only. I believe it makes a lot of the calculations supcom needs much quicker and he wanted to do it with the original too.

Goes off to checks Valves recent hardware survey...

EDIT - Oh dear

Windows Vista 64 bit (+0.56%) 10.15%
Windows 7 64 bit (+0.28%) 1.14%
Windows XP 64 bit (+0.03%) 0.32%

On that basis, although it would be great, I dont think it will happen.

Am i right in saying supcom was the first game that really benefitted from multiple cores? It's what forced me to upgrade to dual :E

It is not the hardware that is the problem, it is the operating system.

Over 50% have dual core CPU's or above which I assume most are 64bit.
