Tap water

I never even considered if it came from the tank...can't say I notice the difference a great deal though... Might stop my bathroom water trips now! (it's closer than the kitchin)

I drink a lot of orange squash and such...when I refil my glass its far too much effort to go downstairs to the kitchen tap, so I often use the bathroom one. Really makes no difference what so ever!

I have one of those fridges that dispense water that's been filtered, wife swears by it. I can't tell the difference. Water is water, it has no taste regardless of the source.

Yes it does, if you get water filtered though mountains covered with peat and rock it will taste comply different to water filtered through mountains with minerals, hence soft and hard water.

If you cant tell then your taste buds are not up to scratch.

i drink from the downstairs taps(i have a filter on that) but not from the bathroom taps as in summer that water has been in the pipes running up from the ground to the bathroom all day and is warm

It's probably not too good for you from the tank. Though I doubt it'll do much harm but it's probably not brilliant.

You do realise that water will come from the big water tank in your loft where all the spiders like to hang out? :D

your upstairs cold water doesn't come from the the tank in the loft at all
it come from the same feed as the kitchen cold water and is at mains pressure.
the tank in the loft only feeds your water heater and then on to your bathroom and kitchen hot taps by mavity feed.

That may be true for a lot of homes however it's not true for everyone, my old flat certainly didn't have that, and the house where I live now, the pipework was changed so as to have mains feeds throughout the house.

Surely every residence is different :p?

Anyway, water from my kitchen tap tastes like it's had pencils dipped in it. Eugh.

Depends, direct or indirect systems. I've had older houses with indirect water systems. As for drinking from the indirect bathroom tap, most would clean their teeth using it. Not much different from drinking it.
