Underpaid, seeing as I work weekends while going college to study carpentry, a highly physical profession. I'm really really not bothered though, as the majority of my mates don't even have jobs or college/university.

How about this - I'm contracted 10-6, but stay on until 11pm unpaid as I do it voluntarily lol.

what I havent volunteered for though is to not be paid on time which has been the case for the last couple of months and is really doing my head in.

I think a lot of people are in this situation at the moment, one of my friends is. But look on the bright side, at least you have a job.

I'd probably argue that a job that doesn't pay you is worse than no job

True, but the OP said he was underpaid, he didn't say he wasn't being paid at all.

Yes. I just got a 3k pay cut, doing the exact same job. Praying I can find something else within the 4 weeks consultancy so I can take my redundancy money and go straight into a new job.

I'd love to tell them where to stick it and take the redundancy, but it'd be a bit silly with it being so difficult to find work elsewhere.
