the reason your games list stopped there, is because thats where it stops. You know why, physx, a couple of those games use physx to do pointless things, in fairly crap games that are very very short and pathetically easy and dull, some of us even have the audacity to accuse the " clean basic vibrant" style of Mirror's edge, simply a way to make a very quick easy plain game, as a showcase for physx. widely slated, no replay value, low sales, and iirc it was dropped to about 1/3 the price within a couple weeks because it was selling so badly.
Likewise, Deadspace does weirdly run incredibly badly on ati software, even though that "badly" is over 100fps with AA at 1920x1200 on a x2, that 200fps on a 295gtx really really shows the difference, especially in a fairly slow paced horror, thank god.
Now if you stack that list up, against arguably the most popular/widespread games of late, Crysis, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, the 295 is barely faster(if at all) than the 4870x2, for a massive increase in cost. I think its not completely unfair to say its roughly 15% faster card on average, but even when you find the 295gtx for "far cheaper" than ocuk, its not the £270 it would need to maintain price/performance ratio the 4870x2 has, infact its still way way way more than that.
There really isn't a game I can name that isn't playable on a 4870x2, that is suddenly playable on a 295gtx, both cards eat everything up with ease, you wouldn't have any noticeable difference using either card, so paying more for either would be, well, stupid.
barely faster(if at all)? oh wait! its drunkenmaster... i'm still waiting for my gtx 295 to become obsolete since January. am i rite? a year after i'll be still waiting.........
