PSP Go is revealed, UGLY AS SIN !!!!

I think the only reason they are releasing the new PSP Go is because the old one is so pireted.
I just hope that they release the new gran tourismo and metal gear to the old psp because i would buy them in a heart beat.

The only problems I can see with this are :
1. Reselling games I resell loads of games all the time when I have finished with them.

2.If im buying a game I want a box or at least an instruction manual. I dont want to keep games stored on my psp if i wanted to do that I would load CFW on it.

3.What happens when you run out of memory and want a new game would you be able to delete a game and redownload it when you wanted to play it again?

4.If I want to play one of my old psp games (I have 20 of them too many to fit on the 16gb of memory this new psp has) I just pick it up off my shelf and put it in usualy when im getting ready to commute. I dont really want to spend ages downloading an old game when I have a bus to catch in 10 minutes.

Oh and as for the design I think it looks alright but who knows if enough people kick up a stink about it they might change it like they already did with the PS3 controller and the 20gb ps3 (they added a HDMI port to it a couple of months before release for those who are wondering what im talking about)

The current PSP does indeed have a lot of piracy but the 'GO' will be no different IMO.

The PSP3000 was supposed to be un-crackable but it was done, it will only be a matter of time until the same happens with this.

Hopefully this one will support home brew without having to resort to custom firmwares etc, which would probably help in reducing the piracy a bit.

The main reason home brew isnt supported is because of piracy.

I think this one will be different as the games you download will surley have some DRM on them so it will be a bit like the PSN or live arcade games .

The PSP Go will be cracked and my guess is there will be just as much pirating/home brew on it.

People enjoy cracking these things and they won't stop until there's a way.

Sony might be able to reduce the amount of people using custom firmware by releasing more applications, or even providing a decent SDK for people to use.

Utterly hideous, still only one analogue stick, fail sony :(

As has been stated previously they can't fit a second analogue stick. The reason for this is that any titles that required both analogue sticks would not be playable on the older models of psp.

I dont think Id buy a PSP if I couldnt run homebrew.

I certainly wouldn't have. Only reason i have one is because i saw a pristine condition fat on the MM for a decent price.

I think it looks pretty good actually. A lot smaller (and 43% lighter). Looks alright ergonomically to me as well - I imagine your fingers curve quite nicely around the frame behind the screen.

Looks fine to me albeit not as nice as that concept. Looks no less ergonomic than the current PSPs.
Can't see the problem with it only having 1 stick, no current games would support a second one anyway, it would be stupid to add a second, have new games come out and then end up alienating people with older PSPs.

3. There is a Mem Stick Micro Port to add extra storage.
4. Who says you can play your existing PSP games on the PSP Go? How are you going to get the game on the device? Are you just going to download the game for free if you own the UMD? How does that work? This is the big question I feel.

I remember reading somewhere that there's rumours of a system that will allow you to get downloads of games you've already bought for free. I don't see any reason where say, the serial number of the game could be entered into their system and it unlocks the download for free. We'll just have to see what they come up with.

It would be great, but existing games didn't come with serial numbers. New ones out might, but thats not much help for games that people already own.

The problem is, unless I am missing something, they have changed the console too much to make old games work, but not enough to make you want to buy a new console! Also, if you buy a PSP Go, but you don't have a PSP, you won't be able to take advantage of all the cheaper classic second hand PSP games etc.

What a mess.

Yeah but I dont really want to spend money on a memory stick as well as the games it self especialy with the price of memory sticks (granted we dont know how much the micros are going to cost but still)

If the games are priced at say £20 or less and a 2gb memory stick was £5 then it would be ideal but im not getting my hopes up.

If they're going to be running this one side-by-side the normal PSP, I can only presume that they'll keep the UMD-based games going for PSP owners, and use the PSP Go as a sort of 'lite' version for people who perhaps can't justify the cost of the PSP (if the Go is cheaper, of course) but still want to get in on some of the games.

That's my interpretation anyway. I can't see them being able to offer any kind of service for people who have already bought UMD games, I think the Go is largely for newcomers.
