New L4d2 Game Mode, what would you like?

I would have posted this in the actual thread, but I figured not many would bother reading it if that was the case and they had read it already.

There's already a similar thread in the Steam forums, but I'm interested in what you all think. The Question is:

What game mode would you like to see implemented in the new L4D game? It is supposed to have all the existing modes from the original and a new one. So what would you like?

I'd like either a free-roaming map with 32 players or so (16 vs 16), an 8 vs 8 version of versus (with more, tougher infected) or an "In the beginning" game mode. Where the world is full of uninfected going about their daily lives and you are a hunter/smoker/rusher infected that infects as many people as possible. With survivors defending. Special infected may have more life and be able to stop mid-attack as a special infected and could choose who they spawned as, but you do not respawn when you die. You need to infect as many people as possible and once a certain percentage is infected you win, however the survivors defend (are able to respawn, albeit they have less life and only tier 1 weapons) and kill all of the infected then they win.

So, what would you guys do?
 
I'd like the mod that enables you to SHUT THE HELL UP!

I'd like to see it go beyond the boundaries of 4 people or 8 people surviving, or cooping or VSing. They need to try something new, but I honestly can't think what.

Some of the mods people did with hunter games would be an intersting idea, maybe they could steal those and incoporate them into another game mode?
 
I like your idea mate. not quite sure of how it would work but how about a gauntlett? survivors have to make their way through and either shoot something in the distance etc or kill something o complete a task to get to the next part of the gauntlett. All this while the infected try to tear shreds out of them. (also infected boobie-traps to hinder the survs.)

EDIT: to clarify. Events that are triggered by infected not survs

How about a special forces mode where you are a team of 4 soldiers dropped into a situation to complete certain missions.

Ie: a water treatment plant has been infected and needs shuting down, system flushed then started back up. Rather than just surviving/escaping you are trying to complete certain objectives.
 
Awesome idea #2:

VIP mode: 4 bodyguards trying to protect 1 or more VIP's while they perform a task or try to escape themselves.
 
Maybe more of a sandbox style survival game mode, where you can place props, resources etc where ever you like and almost build yourself a virtual fortress. Obviously this ability should be counteracted with much stronger infected, and possibly a new class of infected.
 
anti-rage quit mode... exactly the same as versus but if steam detects you quit a server in a nerd fuelled rage it bans your account and deletes all your games.
 
Escort a payload from one end of the map to the other.

Capture control points
or
Capture the flag

L4TF2 would be so much fun :p

thats annoying as one paid for those :P

its annoying when you just wanna play infected and you have to play survivors too :(

This! Survivor mode sucks in comparison to being the infected! (well in multiplayer, nothing beats shouting BOO-YEAH!! as you destroy your mate when he wasnt expecting it)
 
I like the idea of infected vs infected, keeping to the random class each life.

And maybe something shorter for when you want to play but don't have time for the full campaign! Adding a timer to see how far you can get and then having that time you set somehow affect your next round? (not sure how exactly tho).
 
achievements are harder to get and a lot lot lot lot more achievements...bf2 style;)

If you are going down the unlock route that can sometimes be a bit ghey and put new players off as they are getting hammered by the guys that have no jobs/lots of time. Depends how it was done as to how well it would work me thinks
 
How about Survivor vs Survivor. Two teams of 4 Survivor's race to the exit in a semi open world that has random paths generated by the director. Both teams start equal distance from the exit but the path each team chooses to go down is entirely upto the team, you may try the quickest route to the exit but the effect being the director may throw a tank at your team or you may go the longest route.

Add a couple of dead ends here and there buses toppled over in the street and you've got a new game mod.
