I see Hazel Blears has chosen to resign the day before the election, the timing of which is a stunning act of disloyalty to her party as far as I can see. Labour is now in complete meltdown.

Think the talk about 'disloyalty' and 'tactics' is a lot of media-driven fuss about nothing really, they seem to be neglecting that she was odds-on to be kicked out of the Cabinet anyway after GB described her expenses as 'totally unacceptable', hardly a sign that she'd be keeping her job - jumped before pushed comes to mind

It isn't that she's gone, it's the timing. You say it's a media driven thing, okay, well she's a politician, she must have known that the media would make a meal of it and it would dominate the evening headlines, and thus be fresh in people's minds when they vote tomorrow. I doubt she will be allowed to stand in the next general election.

True, but what will be fresh in their minds, that a minister the PM described as acting totally unacceptably stepped down - if GB had thrown his support behind her then maybe that would be negative?

Arguably what will be fresh in the public's mind is that another greedy muppet of a Cabinet member is gone from Government - which is what people are after surely!

It doesn't even need to be spun to minimise the political mileage - Cabinet minister on verge of being binned, quits :p

Only way I'll be voting is at gunpoint, if I do have to vote, I'll probably vote...oh I don't know, any, just close my eyes, make a cross and get on with my life without paying attention to these carpetbaggers and scum we have in Westminster.

The next general will be my first that I've been old enough to vote in, and I'm pretty sure I'll be voting conservative.
While I can't say that they appeal to me completely, they're the best of what I have to choose from, and I would much rather use my vote than not.

Idealy I would like a party which is a mix between conservative and the BNP, while this sounds wrong to a lot of you, I think it could work. Taking conservatives general idea, but introducing some of the BNPs more "no-****" policies, obviously without the stupidly racist ones.

Anyway, what do we think Labour will poll tomorrow, 10% maybe? Will they be in 4th place behind the BNP? ;)
Haven't really been following much of the coverage, I reckon

Con - 35%
Lib Dem - 15%
Lab - 15%
UKIP - 10%
Greens - 10%
BNP - 5%
Ind/Other - 10%

Could be. I hope people thinking of voting UKIP as a protest against greedy politicians, remember that UKIP politicians were caught with their hand in the till just the same.

And hopefully those voting for the BNP as a protest vote against greedy politicians remember that a reason* they couldn't behave in the same manner is simply that they didn't have an MP in Parliament.

*Maybe as a matter of conscience they wouldn't have done anything but that's not something we'll ever know if the system is properly reformed. It's relatively easy to say "I'd be moral" if you're not in the position.

True but one way or another they are the only ones with clean hands ;)

I actually hope people vote for BNP tomorrow, not that I think they're worth more than 2 day old dog ****, but that it serves as a wake up call to all the 'major' parties. Everyone I talk to is sick and tired, disillusioned and totally negative towards politicians at the moment. We need a major change, a revolution so to speak. Too long have the same nonsense been going on. Something has to change and change quick.

Voting BNP does nothing other than degrade the UK, those who vote for BNP, even if it's a protest vote should hang their heads in shame.

Wake up call? Rubbish. A vote for the BNP is a vote for the very people who should be removed from Britain.

I always thought this forum contained a lot of intelligent people but still, in the poll, 5.7% would still vote Labour! I mean really, what more can they do to totally destroy this country and still get your vote? I'm really confused, someone want to enlighten me on how they still poll nearly 6% of the vote?
