***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

I keep missing the OcUK games. Just got back from hols this weekend, had a couple of games with OcUKers but not a full OcUK game. I miss them *wipes a tear*

Started one last night but couldn't finish it cos my L4D installation was screwed up. But managed to finish a dead air map last night with a full OcUK group later in the night. Our team got royally beaten.... but was good fun :)
 
Was definitely good fun but I think you just got a bit unlucky, for example the four of us spawning as hunters with only two of you left, just imagine the glee on our faces :)
 
I've updated my config again, introducing new tweaks and removing some redundant commands (ones that don't work anyway). For example, I have now added a 10% chance of a tank spawning in the first level, just to make it a possibility and increased the chance of a witch in it to 95% chance (from 90%). I have also increased the variation of the tank slightly more, so that no team can be certain whether the tank'll appear in the same place or not. I've sent the update to aekeron, so he can upload it to his servers when he has the chance.

Admins with rcon access can run it (and currently the old one) by typing: "rcon exec cevolink.cfg" (without the ") as long as they are connected to the fragm ocuk servers (search key: ocukfragm).

I am intending to make another custom config that will upt the difficulty for the survivors to either advanced or expert mode and hopefully once the server is sorted I will use the config to try to make another one that sets the server up as a 16-man server with more infected (and/or advanced mode), probably 2/3 tanks (might be as easy as changing the probability up to 200%, something to look into) and all sorts of other tweaks. I am currently waiting for aekeron to sort out the sourcemod though on his server, which I'm sure he'll do when he has some free time. :) Any other suggestions, let me know.
 
Link can you send me a copy of the new config later on with the changes?

Ruddles server (as you know from last night) is still a bit sketchy with the original CEVO so we need the newest on there too.

I assume I just need to plonk it in the BIN directory and just use the normal command to execture it when we are ready?

Bonsoir fellow zombie slayers. The missus is out tonight and assuming the little one gets her head down normal time I have some time on my hands tonight :D

Was thinking of hooking my webcam up and using the mic on that for L4D. Never used a mic in any game... ever! Is it easy enough to setup? I'm assuming (hoping) I install webcam and config mic, then go into L4D and use!

Tell me its that simple ?

Pretty much yes. Tweak the ingame sensitivity (highest doesn't equal best) after making sure that windows is set up right and your done :)

If your online around half 8 I'll invite you in :)

Yeah it's simple. Make sure the webcam microphone is selected as the mic input in your windows settings (assuming you're using windows).
If you're using a sound card, you might need to have a look at some settings in that.

Then in-game, just set the microphone activator to whichever button you want. And voila.. should be done.
 
Good games last night guys. Despite getting well and truly owned in the first game.... I swear you guys were spawning quicker :p

Sorry I couldn't do the 2nd game in the end. The missus arrived home with company and I'd look like a right ignorant sod if I'd ignored them in favour of zombie slaying........ tempting tho it was :D
