Just built the system in the picture below.

I have gone to install a fresh copy of windows vista ultimate 64 bit but when i get to the screen which you select where you want to install vista it says:

'Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation.'

I dont know what to do am i missing something simple?

There is a load driver option.

The HDD is there it has its free and total space too.

Is there any drivers i can download to get it to work?

I have this problem on my Gigabyte EX38-DS5, I did every combination under the sun and still got the same message, in the end I had to add a partition select the new partition and windows started to load. Then find some software to remove the partition.

Pain the rear for sure, but I did not know any other way.

Its so depressing how cheap that is, back when i built my pc (feb) that would have all cost about £1400. Mine cost anout the same as yours and i got so much less =[

The bios says.

SATA RAID/AHCI Mode [Disabled]

[Disabled] Disable both RAID/AHCI function
[RAID] Enable Sata as RAID Function
[AHCI] Enable SATA as AHCI Function

Sata Port0-3 Native Mode [Disabled]

[Enabled] SATA Port0-3 Work at Native IDE Mode
[Disabled] SATA Port0-3 Work at Legacy IDE Mode

Brilliant thanks mate you have really helped!

I switched to AHCI mode and it has sorted it!

Vista is installing now do i need to change it back once Vista is installed?

Cool sounds good!

Might have to check my system in the rig to see if that setting is enabled as i never chnaged anything when i installed vista on that!

This is prooving a bit of a problem i have managed to get vista installed but when i go to run the updates the maching just hangs and everything locks up.

I have reinstalled and still the same.

Any known issues?

Could it be the wireless card?
