Terminator salvation first reviews (OMG SPOILERS)

*****SPOILER BLAH BLAH BLAH******

Most of the budget went on blowing stuff up.

It was stupidly easy how Connor got in to Skynet too, I mean, firstly, why the hell is there a keypad on the door when the Terminators would interface and secondly, why does typing in Override, override the system? lol

Ive not actually seen it yet but it really does sound terrible in a lot of ways. :(

I think they need to get new script writers and dump "mcg". Just sounds like a lot of stuff was decided on the spot with no real thought.

i actually laughed when he picked up the bike and it displayed 'override' on the display

Besides it would be un-ridable as there would be no physical controls for a human to operate.

Bales batman voice got on my nerves a bit, I had to check a couple of times to see what film I was sat in.

a lot of peoples criticisms here could be shot out of the air if they'd simply stop being so ignorant and possibly stupid, because some are easily explained if you had half a clue or watched any other film and remembered them.
Whilst there are some bad points, it annoys me to see, just like recently Star Trek and a lot of other films, people not having a clue and bashing.
I really can't be bothered to correct peoples misunderstanding either, none of my concern, I understood it all, there was too much good to outweight the little flaws it had.

Bike thing though yea, stupid but one can assume it would still be just that, a bike, meaning if he can find the go switch, all you need is a little bit of man strength to turn the thing :p

Actually they weren't, he's been quoted as saying this is the follow on to t2, the series didn't play into any part of this movie uin terms of timeline or continuity.

so why didn't he show any recognition to arnie? and be freaked out by skin jobs.

oh i dunno, i give up on this movie. popcorn flick id rather forget about and will once transformers comes out :D

Was Arnie a unique terminator or was that just the image that they were created in?

If you remember Arnie tried to KILL his mother... (Might not have been the exact Terminator though)
He's just a T800 at the end of the day. A terminator, just like any of the others. Just that one SINGLE terminator from T2 is the one that was on his side, the rest were the enemy.

Freak out at Marcus? Of course he would, John Connor hasn't seen anything like it before, his mother knew nothing of that type of Terminator either, Marcus' "skin job" is completely different to the T800 (Arnie)

Was Arnie a unique terminator or was that just the image that they were created in?

Image they were created in, this was answered in T3 (I know people bash it, but it did answer some questions).

He wasn't a unique terminator.

Lol if you know so much and you think you can correct us, dont make out like you can and dont bring anything to the table do tell, the film was poor, and it had terrible terrible flaws, please correct us if were wrong oh holy one.

Because arnie hadnt been sent back to kill john connor yet... or thats how i saw it.

isn't it the 101 series that has arnies likeness, in T3 he was a T850 a upgraded version of the T800 with dual power cells etc

Yea I think that's right. I htink his face/body was the standard though for most of the early "skin job" Terminators. I'm no expert, but that's how I understodd it.

Like the T-888 in the TV are all different shapes, sizes, sexe's etc.

zomg, that film was bad..i mean a, why dont they make biochemical warfare and kioll all humans?

like why would they have a robot factory/prison/HQ all in 1 building? why weent there ANY other terminater robots anywhere near their HQ and only sent 1 in (arnie) to kill John.. despite us patently seeing multiple sentries with chain guns as the prisoners were on their way in.. the helicopter didnt even get shot at as they flew off?!

why would u detonate a nuke when your in a small helicopter about 100ft from the blast zone?!

why didnt the terminaters just kill reece as soon as they found him? they could have made it appear he was still alive but actually just have squished him isntantly as he was picked up? or later on in the prison?

the film was pretty dire.

also, why did skynet feel compelled to "talk" out their evil plan to Marcus?! serious defaulting to evil do-er from a B rate movie where the plot is so unsubstantial that it has to be spelt out 3/4 through to make the end have meaning?

yea and didnt arnie terminater punch a hole through the "good guy" terminater? and then his heart is beating afterwards and he is fine to donate to john connor?! wha!?!

nail hit head... but some people yet think this film was good, dont get me wrong i enjoyed it, but it could have been so much better if thought out...

Saw it this evening... Enjoyable enough in parts, but overall I felt it was just daft.

The main plot involving Marcus and his creation seemed pointless, and only produced questions rather than answers. At times it felt like the producers wanted to make several installments, but just didn't have the material to flesh out a "new" trilogy, so they came up with this prototype infilitrator nonsense.

As with other posters, I thought there were several annoyances where McG decided to do stuff becuase he thought it'd be cool, rather than actually adding anything to the story, or heaven forbid, actually make any sense. Overall, not a terrible movie... It was made with good intentions, just not with much intelligence.

My missus summed it up...

"why was there never more than 1 terminator on screen during the whole film?"

Even in Skynet?

There was no epic scale, no big war... Thats why it fails - nothing to suggest apocalyptic scenario...

I really wanna see this, I loved the Terminator story line, and James Cameron did a more than brilliant job with the 1st 2 films...But after reading so many bad reviews and posts I'm really reluctant to part with my cash.....my expectations where so high and I know there just gonna be smashed to bits......I might wait for DVD, or sky box office release...

yea i mean i enjoyed seeing the huge Transformerrrs.. i mean terminaters stomping around and then con-joining onto a flying terminater ship with scout bikes etc.. very nice...

but it was like the film had NO imagination or creativity after that whatsoever.

i mean, the upper torso crawling after a wounded character? T2...pouring molten metal to kill badass terminater? freezing him up (okay not with Nitrous Oxide but still)..i was waiting for a meat grinder machine for him to fall into so they could press the button and squish him...

im going to say that T1, and also T2 ruled with them being up there as some of the best sci fi action films ever made for story, plot, real grittyness.

3 and 4 were complete sell outs (you can tell from the 12a rating wheras 1 was like an 18) to appeal to a much wider audience, gravitating away from any real struggle for survival to just a load of ppl and a few random machines out there.

also, the dudes at the petrol station ... the terminaters just overlooked them and let them live there?! terminaters arent compassionate, they feel that humans threaten their existance mr director!!! if you had someone threatening your existance and you could gesplat them with no prob whatsoever, why would you let them hold out in a petrol station right near your HQ?!

and how come the terminaters couldnt tap into John Connors radio transmissions?! a, they never seemed to be able to decipher them or b, home in on them?! its not like i saw them all with mass encryption devices with a SSL vpn or whatever...?

who uses A10 tank busters 20 years in the future - given a lack of air to air superiority.. for ground attack yes v good...but like if they KNOW air to air combat is going to happen, surely you'd always have air to air fighters protecting your warthogs?! otherwise u going to lose them as soon as the first air to air contact happens.

and like how extremely trusting were these humans? no magneta scans on when people come back into the base? jphn connor stood there on his own acting broody, it could be a shape shifyter peeps, have you not got like pocket magnets you can check all other life with BEFORE its too late?

and then the water things that looked straight out of the matrix?! why ddnt they just poison all the water and kill all the stupid humans (who based on this film) probably would check it for contamination anyway?!

Those water things - Scorponoks tail from Transformers....

Speaking of the petrol station - how did that huge robot get there without anyone noticing? And the design of that is so transformers...

It just doesnt feel like the world we saw in flash frowards from the first too films.

yea the first film got it TOO spot on and then financially they couldnt replicate it IMO!!

also, like does anyone know WHY a Terminater would take prisoners? i mean the matrix added the whole, because the bad dudes use humans as renewable energy stuff...fine...

but Terminaters that dont terminate? they just want to hook up lots of prisoners? to do what exactly?

its like the Underpants gnomes from southpark...

phase 1; steal the underpants. Whats
phase 2; ? hey gnome, whats phase 2?
phase 1; is to steal the underpants. yea but whats
phase 2; ?
phase 3; is profit.

what was the terminaters phase 2 and 3?! they just wanted to kill or take prisoners...as far as i could see from the first film, it was utter dispair and desperation, no chance of being taken a prisoner.
