Well I had fun making a makebelieve spec.

RAID 0 SSDs on the card for OS and programmes, RAID 0 raptors on the mobo for games. Two loops of watercooling (which I am aware that I didn't put all the components up for)

TBH mate,

Just build your PC, play some games and enjoy it. Come back when its done and post some pictures and benchmarks.

Im bargain builder so I usually put my systems together for way less..They are not as high spec but can more than cope with my needs.

My Latest PC Cost

AMD X2 7750 - £40
Silverstone Case B-Grade - £65
Foxconn A78AX-K - £4.99 (Bought as faulty of auction site then RMA'd it for nothing :) )
4GB Geil BlackDragon PC8500 - £40
Jeantech 550w Powersupply - £40
Overclocked 8600GTS - £35
Seagate 500Gb Sata 2 - £40

Total Cost of Base system - £229.99

Need to upgrade the graphics card but even so plays most things on my HP19w at good settings.

Oh jeez please tell me this is a joke.

1) I thought you said you paid your uncle £300 for it, now you are saying he gave it to you as a gift.

2) So you purchased a HD camcorder so we can see in HD that you wasted your money....omg lolz

3)Atleast you know that for once you wasted money by buying the stuff 3 months before you need it......thats a start atleast. :D

4) Your building a £5k pc and you dont know what spacers are...oh dear.

That it all. :(

Firstly i posted the thread about 1 in the morning i was half asleep i did not know what i was chatting about, my uncle gave it to me for £300 as a gift because he knew that he could have gotten way more money for it on ebay

also i bought 3 months before because i had the money exams are nearly over , i can do more research like this and i know i got the stuff i know what i need to do and i can wait if i can save up for 2 years of course i can wait anotehr 3 months for the actuall build

Hey guys, it's OK, this guy alone can get us out of this recession. And when his motherboard explodes from forgetting spacers and leak testing, he'll just buy a new one.

He hasn't even got any coolant, so I assume he'll be using tap water. That should be fun...

OK spacers are these little screws at one end, and they have a hole for another screw to go in at the other end. It basically lifts the surface provided by the holes for screws off of the metal casing so that there's a gap between the case and mobo (hence the name 'spacers'). If you don't use them, all the metal wiring/soldering on the bottom of your mobo will be connected together via the conductive metal case, and short the whole thing.

I've got to agree with Spooter's post. Trying to get help here after these 4 pages will largely just get you called a troll. Get an online guide, read the manuals, and come back here with specific building problems. Hopefully there'll be some straight answers.

well my sons taking an afternoon nap so had to come back and have nosey for entertainment. lets suppose you are for real and not 16 year troll on pot:p

what games are planning to play on this beast? and does not bother you then in less 6 months it will be worth less then 50% of the orignal cost.
In regards to your comment of "just because you do not have the money to get a 4k pc then don't hate on me please" I dont hate you at all i just payed 3k for brakes on a R33 Skyline(Happy to post pics if any one wants) but im an old git and have the money to waste, it wont wont effect me or my family's finacial future can you say the same?
Any way just post the pics of the 50 box's you have as im sure you have them and they would look awsome + massive epeen for age:D

why do you want to spend 5k on a pc at 16??? you can easliey buy a Real good Gaming machine for about 1200 ?? then £3,700 towards learning to drive?

Even if/when you post the pics it still wont change the over all consensus that you're wasting your money as you'll never get your moneys worth out of it.

Your best bet is to spent £1500 on a kick ass system and using the rest more responsibly

Yes i will post the pics A.S.A.P also i am going to make this clear now

i am not a troll,

i give someone a challenge to build a gaming pc with 2 gtx 295 and an intel core i7 975 both liquid cooled, the best monitor i could get and everything else top notch that wil last me 3 years or so of high end gaming systems for the budget £4700 or £4800 or less! i also want the Ethernet cable, everything i will need for the pc and 4 anti static mats for the build, i got Anti Static Matting 61cm (24inch) Wide x 104cm (41 inch) Length for the price of £25 ( i bought 4 of them) i got them from a competitor, the competitor rhymes with De******
also i want everything i mean everything down to the tidy cable kit ( that goes around wires and then you pull the wire making it look neater) water cooling tubes, thermal adhesive tape, case fans (led), surge protectors, fan controllers basically same as my system specs but for cheaper, read page 1 for details please read all my system specs for a guide

also i did buy coolant it is zalman anit corsant coolant i bought 4 and each one is 500ml

also i am very stupid i am sorry i know i had the 4k for the pc and it was that adrenaline rush so what i got for the extra 900 WAS 5.1 logitech Z5500 speakers logitech G35 headset, razer tarantula keyboard, razer mamba gaming mouse, 77piece tool kit for the build, my monitor and the rest was tax :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::

There are however other people who CAN afford £5000, because frankly they are not worried about the money, or the depreciation value of the PC.

They simply want the best. And are happy to pay for it.

From that perspective I think it is interesting for the older, wiser heads on here who have built a few PCs or have some experience with the hardware to spec out such a 'dream' build and post it (they don't have to buy it :-))

Even the couple that have been posted see some interesting trends, such as the use of the same motherboard etc. As well as interesting differences such as the way they would implement ssd cards.

I'm going to add you to my trust list. I think its necessary to add any boi genious [sic] to my list immediately. You did the right thing getting Norton, it'll keep you safe when you eventaully get the time to unlock the door of your room and build the components.

Liquid colling the GFX cards should be of absolutely no problem to you either, the most difficult part will be cracking the difficult task of correcting placing and using the spacers. Its the hardest part of any self-build. Once you manage that you're over the brow of the hill and firmly in freewheel downwards.

Superb choice on methods of spending money. Out of interest, how did you uncle manage to get a chip for you before they were released? Does he work for intel? If so, its wonderful as he'll probably have a really good chip you can easily overclock.

Final thing, security, make sure you install Norton first, that way the rest of your installation will be protected.

i am planning to play Crysis 1 and 2 and maximum edition on max with 16 x anti-aliasing cod 4 and 5 on max modern warfare 2 on max assassins creed 2 on max

I hope this is joking...

There seems to be heavy doses of sarcasm, and not enough help in this thread.

I think the guy gets it. He did a crap job of choosing components, wasted a lot of money, and is probably attention seeking as this build probably doesn't exist.

So what?

Quit the smart arse stuff. 4 pages of that is enough for anybody.

Some of you are acting like playground bullies.

If he genuinely did save up 5 grand, then good for him. Its his money, and he can spend it however he likes. Good english is not a pre-requisite for hard work.

If this is not genuine, then he is attention seeking. Which at 16 is not the greatest crime in the world either.

Personally I found the motherboard spacers question an interesting one myself. As I will be doing my first 'from scratch' build myself next week (closer to 2K :)). Do those spacers come with the motherboard or case? Or would I need to buy a pack myself?

Also, can someone recommend a good pc toolkit for doing the build? Can't find one on here. Thanks.

i only paid £107 for the HD720p camcorder!!!!!!! i will as soon as possible right now i am doing reivsion for my last 3 exams also i got like 30 OEM boxes the camcorder is in one of them i cant open everysignle box just wait till i get things sortedd out and anser my challenge that i posted up !
