Hello!

I was at my mates house last night who was having a few people around and later on in the evening, I think roughly around midnight or just before we all got called outside to the back. Thinking something was wrong everyone jumps up and rushes out, only to be told, look in the sky.

It was quite a cloudy night last night, no stars could be seen but up in the sky there were these orange round orbs. I'll try and explain my best what they did.....

One would appear and fade in, almost as if someone had turned a dimmer switch up on the lights, and then, it would move across the sky in a perfectly straight line. After a few seconds when it started to move another would appear behind and so on and so on. Each orb having the exact same distance between them. They moved in this straight line and then the orb at the front stopped, and then disappeared.

Kinda like this....

They were not flashing or pulsing and not making any noise. We all thought at first it was a plane, but soon realised, well, they're too close together. Just then a plane did come overhead and had the usual flashing tail light and flew straight through the orbs.

This pattern of streaming line continued for about half an hour then suddenly just stopped! Another "weird" thing is that all the dogs in the back alley were going mental!! As soon as they stopped it went all silent again.

Now I managed, in my some what drunken state to get one photo, I had to increase the brightness in photoshop as otherwise it was just a black night sky. But after increasing the brightness you can clearly see what I did last night..... (very top of the photo).

Some of the people had left the house party and went into town earlier on. They could also see them and the taxi driver that dropped them off in town, also commented on the orbs to them. So I think it's safe to say we were not all holusinating.

End of the world? What do we think.... I keep going over stuff in my head. I'm sure there were similar reports of this lately down south, the crop circles (but I think these are just man made), now orbs up North. I looked on the Chronicles Newspaper website and these are mentioned literally a few days ago..... link here, and youtube video's are on the page also....

Literally as I've pasted this link in, someone has added a comment from last night in Newcastle!! How bizzare!!

Or is it just these lattern things?!??

Comments & thoughts welcome. :)

funnilly enough the film Signs was on last night, which has similar scenes. maybe the aliens are working in conjuction with the bbc? :p

Lol yeah I text my bro to tell him and he wasn't happy it was when signs was on TV. Think I freaked him out a bit. :)

@seek, I don't get it either. They are UFO's. It doesn't mean "argh ALIENS!!!" just means it's something that is not identified. i.e. it could be those lattern things. Be a bit more constructive.

And taken from seeks link....... the very good point....

"Although there have been approximately 25 different sighting reports in different locations, now ALL of them can be attributed to the lanterns... or so they say. This is a classic weapon of debunkers. Take a wave of sightings, find an explanation for one of them. Go public with your findings, and suddenly, every UFO sighting in the last 5 years that involved red or orange glowing lights can be explained the same way. This is how the general public thinks. These are followers, those who quickly and easily follow the leader. This is why we must always follow Ufology's first and foremost rule. Judge each case on its own merits."
