***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Hello folks,

After moving to a new flat and waiting 4 weeks to get an internet connection (omg?) I am now back online again :D and not sharing a house with epic torrenters. I'll see you soon in l4d, assuming I can remember how to play it.
 
LOL. Good then I take it. :D

I changed my config last night so it's basicly aekeron's config. It needs testing for this apparent lagging that has been reported to me. I noticed some slight lag ingame the other night (nothing gamebreaking) however the game afterwards was lag-free.

For some reason the search key has stopped working again, however you can direct connect to my server still by typing ms_force_dedicted_server 85.234.148.92:27145 which does the same as the search key but it reportedly more reliable.

Let me know is the lagging is still bad as then I can complain to INX about it.
 
The search key for my server is working again, but the server is removed from the group. Any problems with the search key then ms_force_dedicted_server 85.234.148.92:27145 in the console is still an option.
 
I got a kick out of seeing this, just thought I'd share it, Left 4 Dead kids!

As I have only ever rage quit once when playing with OcUK then I doubt it.

Yes I have ragequit in public servers before, but public servers are made of rage quit and 15 year old spanish/french kids GRRR *waves fist

I also fail at finding you Pyro Fish :( I add new friend, search for Pyro Fish and get nowt back :(

On the note of rage quitters/quitting; public games are just notorious (for me) for just that. You get players who only look after themselves, players who gets angry at you for not doing EXACTLY as they "commanded" etc. etc. It's far simplier for me to leave and try and find a semi-decent game - hence why I would like to get invited again to an OcUK game :p
 
I already know out of the OcUK lot who I have played with who will stay for a full game. I remember people who RQ or leave or act the fool. So basically my philosophy goes: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

People who do this don't get second chances in my book. Unless there is a genuine reason (Internet/PC Crash). Most people who invite me or I invite usually have the decency to message a reason or I ask them and they tell me.

Anyone who I have had bad experiences usually go straight off my friends list and I do my damn best to warn others of my misfortune.

Case in point: I played with a random scottish guy (non OcUK) and added him to my list once as he seemed a newb...but decent to talk and play a game with.

Queue another game down the line and he was on my team. I don't know why but it was as though he had been replaced with someone who was an idiot. He was running off, not "working as a group", ignoring what people saying on Mic - generally the most abysmal player you'd ever see.

So...we vote kick him and get someone else. At this point he starts raging at me through Steam Friends. Complete torrents of abuse (English ****, newb, etc, etc) and threats were received "If you am ever on MY server and you join I'm going to kick you, etc, etc, etc".

I deleted him and found it amusing that someone who doesn't know me has such a distored view of things. I mean, I am always on OcUK or privately (Friends) owned servers. All of which I have root admin. Oh not to mention that 99% of times I start lobbies and invite people.

So anyways, I think since these threats he has tried to join two of my lobbies (friends of friend) and twice he has been kicked. He has even joined when a game has been going on and someone has left. Funnily enough he got instantly kicked then too...

...bet he regrets all those things he said to me now :)

Try adding Knubje, Link to Insanity, Gord and Lyon - I see a lot of invites flying in from those people (and apologies for generally never getting back to you all) :)

Im definately going to add Knubje now, and rant at him in a scottish Pedo Bear voice :D

Will come on again when I get my pc back into my room, it's busy in the lounge at the moment helping set SPL levels for my surround system and configure a house curve on my sub. Madness ? Yes :)

Start adding people on there, normally the names that others have mentioned on this page and you'll get an invite. The games I start tend to fill up pretty quickly these days due to the massive friends list, so be quick ;)

I've added you pedo bear, but still waiting for an accept (I usually remove invited friends after a week though if they haven't accepted as I presume they don't wanna be friends with me :()

With regards to Podgo, u've left one game that I can remember that I've been in, but I have replaced you in another after an apparent rage quit. Ragequitters aren't fun so strike 3 and your off my list. Doesn't necessarily mean I'll kick you from future games as soon as you join, you just won't get invites from me (friendly warning, everyone deserves one).

Aekeron, you really need to get into a game sometime. I emplore you :D

Also, Aekeron, We should try getting an ocuk server (not mine as inx wouldn't be happy) set up with more players though sometime, I'm just waiting for a decent tutorial to come along before I sort it out with you.

In the early days of the servers I had an RL friend with admin that started rage quitting/rage kicking.

They don't have admin anymore...but I had to be quite sneaky about it :)
