Hi,

Thinking about buying one of these, not for SF4, but for playing my old arcade classics on my PS3... These arcade classics are normally PS2 titles.

Will the Hori stick work with old PS2 games?

If not is there another solution to use a stick for the old PS2 titles (all my old arcade compliations is really the only thing i'm after)

Edit, after doing some more reading, it says prior to firmware update did not work on ps1 / ps2 titles... But how do you do a firmware update on it? Presumably via a pc and usb? can anyone confirm this for me?

Or what about the Street Fighter IV FightStick? Will that work on older PS2 titles...

I have the Hori fighting stick 3 and it works fine with PS2 emulation games one my PS3 (60GB model). Didn't work initially for all games, but one of the firmware updates made it work. I have played SF Alpha Anthology on it, amongst other games.

Edit: The firmware update they speak of is the PS3 updates, not the actual stick!!

Excellent, but before i pull the trigger, is it worth spending a little extra and going for the Streetfighter Fight stick over the Hori one?

Anyone had both and 'much' prefered one over the other?

Thanks

Depends how much you can get the Hori stick for. The SF4 one is 65-70 quid when you get it in stock. My only concern would be that a lot of people had them break or have to mod them for them to be any good (Having said that I am sure they are fine for general non "hardcore" play). I think it is a high price of entry for your first stick unless you really know you will put the hours in tbh.

$50 delivered brand new, and the fight stick for around $75. Wife less likely to moan at me with the $50 offering...

TBH the stick probably won't get that much use, but it is something i'd like to have in my possesion for those occasional retro gaming sessions.
