Go on, put your scifi heads on and predict how many years till:-
- A human lands on the Moon again
- A human lands on Mars
- A human reaches Jupiter (Arthur C Clarke said we'd already be there :))
- A probe or human reaches another star
- A probe or human reaches another galaxy

- A human lands on the Moon again - Never, its a rock with no atmosphere. We need a reason, a purpose to go there, otherwise its a waste of money, time and resources.

- A human lands on Mars - 100 years

- A human reaches Jupiter (Arthur C Clarke said we'd already be there :)) - 500 years

- A probe or human reaches another star - Never, we'll be dead by the time we get there unless we invent another propulsion

- A probe or human reaches another galaxy - ditto above

- A human lands on the Moon again - 50 years
- A human lands on Mars - 200 years
- A human reaches Jupiter (Arthur C Clarke said we'd already be there :)) - 1000 years
- A probe or human reaches another star - 500 years (probe)
- A probe or human reaches another galaxy - 5000 years

I have it on good authority that a few members here have already landed on various planets, mentally anyway.

- A human lands on the Moon again I think there are missions planned for 2020-2040 time
- A human lands on Mars 50 years
- A human reaches Jupiter 50-75 years, if we solve the problems going to mars, then Jupiter is within reach
- A probe or human reaches another star 500 years+
- A probe or human reaches another galaxy thousands of years in the future

- A human lands on the Moon again - 10 Years
- A human lands on Mars - 81 Years
- A human reaches Jupiter - 100 Years
- A probe or human reaches another star - 150 Years
- A probe or human reaches another galaxy - 500 Years

- A probe or human reaches another star 500 years+

Keep in mind, the fastest speed any probe has travelled so far is 157,000mph. That's about 1/50th of 1% the speed of light. So to get to our closest neighbour would take approaching 20,000 years to get to!

that probe broke didnt it? cause of the speed i think (voyager1?).

Technology can have a massive jump when you least expect it. Look how much junk we have in the last 100 years.

Well if you actually believe we landed on the moon in the first place that is?

How can someone who can managed to turn on and use a computer spout such nonsense?

Seriously, anyone who believes the lunar hoax arguments needs a seriously good slapping! Do me a favour and spend a couple of minutes educating yourself...

Well if you actually believe we landed on the moon in the first place that is? I don't so space travel is far far away.......

I would like to think we landed on the moon but still aren’t a 100%. Just my main reason is why has it taken us so long to get back..... and no the recession wasn’t the issue :p.

I guess once we have a telescope that can see the surface crystal clear we should be able to see the landing sites.... even if that’s possible might be a silly question.

Tin hat time

- A human lands on the Moon again - 20 years
- A human lands on Mars - 60 years
- A human reaches Jupiter - Whats Jupiter ?
- A probe or human reaches another star - Never, stars are Bats with Torches
- A probe or human reaches another galaxy -

i dont know how you worked that out, but  And they are obviously thinking about these things and planning :( there whole lives wasted, earth wont be here then, id put a tenner on that

- A probe or human reaches another star - 10,000 if we're lucky
- A probe or human reaches another galaxy - never

We have lunar rocks brought back by the astronauts. We have countless photos and hours of video footage. We have radio telemetry from the space flights. We have seen the 'blobs' in photos from the surface of the remains of the landers. We can shoot lasers at the moon and bounce them back off the mirror left there by the astronauts.
