Got a weird one guys.

I dragged a folder out of a finder window (from the side) as I didn't want it there anymore and it's done this...

I've lost all devices, places etc - and if I drag them back I can't get them back.

Any ideas?

delete the com.apple.sidebarlists.plist file in library/preferences and log out and in again

Nope. Just had a folder in the sidebar I didn't want there. So dragged it outside of the window and poof, it went.

Shall try that fix now

The sidebarlist file was missing! So just logged out and back in and bam, works

tbf my computer is never turned off. I don't see the point. I pay my housekeeping, so it stays on

When I have memory leaks, yes

Apple are a pretty 'human' company. They know its your first proper job so will appreciate your nervous. Just be yourself mate, do your research and turn up early. Let us know
