This forum has been far too positive recently (lol) So I thought it would be interesting for people to list their top 3 gaming lows ever! You know those decisions made by the powers that be that defy all sense and logic to you as a gamer!

Heres some of my most painful moments!

1: Dues Ex 2: Stream-Lined
Well they took everything I loved about one of my favorite games ever and watered it down in the name of consoles. Why the developers thought console players would prefer a dumbed down game is beyond me. Also how a studio that made the first game failed to see what fans liked about the original defys explanation!

2: Half Life 2: Delayed - Leaked - Delayed - Delayed
I was originally really hyped for this game but the way Valve misrepresented the progress of the game to the fans really ****ed me off. By the time it did come out I didn't care for it anymore.

3: Playstation 3 - No Back Compatability

I think it was a massive shame that recent PS3's can't play old PS2 games. Sony seem to think its not a wanted feature by todays gamers but I can't disagree enough. I would have loved to play all the Final Fantasys again but don't want another console sat next to my PS3 for the privilege.

oh and heres another big one for me:

4: Shenmue Forever
After loving the previous two games the 3rd installment went MIA and so the fans of the series will never get to see the resolution of the story. The real kicker is the games are actually really good and it was mostly poor marketing decisions that led to the franchise getting cancelled.

Got to agree with your first choice there, deus-ex was so good and then the sequel was a total shambles.

For me, although not a game, the biggest disappointment was the Nintendo Wii. Okay its kinda fun and some good games but its different to normal game playing. Just not the same for me. I grew up playing the snes and nes and enjoying all those fantastic games, then got the N64 and was blown away by the graphics. But when the Wii was announced I couldnt believe it. I wouldnt have minded as much if they had upped the console power much more so that it could compete with ps3/xbox360.

:(

Hummm the canning of shenmue is a real stinger for me too... (though i do enjoy hl2)

To follow on the canning of the Dreamcast as a whole is one of the big moments for me. I still think its one of the most fun consoles iv ever owned, so many more fun nights playing it multi-player with friends or that wonderous moment i finished jet set radio for the first time :)

Spore is another one of those "I cant belive its failed to live up to the hype this badly moments", I wish i hadnt got it on release day.

Finishing GTA4 left me feeling a bit dead inside too, there really should have been more city conquest stuff once you kill off most your employers....

Thats all the depressing ones i can think of just now

Final Fantay X-2
Square Enix, Why. You have never before created a real sequel to a game. There was no need for this one. It's like Bringing out Final Fantasy 7-2, Just so we can all see Aeris is actually living a nice life. That's the only reason for X-2. Tidus. It should not have been done, The game was an abomination. And to be honest, I wish it had never come to be. I would rather think of Tidus the way he was at the end of FF10, rather than how he was in FFX-2.

STALKER. :(
Waited for it for ever, Got a sig made & everything, Game sounded like the next step on, Turned out to be boring pap, Gutted.

COD4.
Cannot believe such a Good game could be spoiled by just a few Tiny things, The game brings everything I hate about games like Quake into a War man v man FPS. :(
Whilst I like to play the game I cannot stand any more than 3 rounds which Completely ***** me off.

Final fantasy X-2 is certainly top of my list. I remember getting the game from a highstreet preorder as i didn't trust the online stores to get it to me on the release day. Fired it up with a huge grin on my face and then 30 seconds into the intro a grim realization hit me; this game is gonna suck.

First and only rubbish final fantasy game.

Another one is when Valve decimated Team Fortress Classic. They hit us with a huge list of changes that affected the game negatively in most peoples opinions. A few every now and then would have been ok but they literally overhauled the game in a day. It killed off my clan within a week and destroyed the entire community in less than a year. Still haven't quite forgiven them for that one.

I would say when sega dropped the dreamcast. It was a great console that had everything going for it.

Metal gear solid 4, a series built over 20 YEARS and that is the **** slap of an ending we get.

GTA4, totally soul less.

Zelda Wind waker.

I would say when sega dropped the dreamcast. It was a great console that had everything going for it.

What made it worse was that it was due to the Playstation's success. A machine inferior in absolutely every way, but marketed so aggressively Sega never stood a chance.

I would say when sega dropped the dreamcast. It was a great console that had everything going for it.

Still I'm sure Sega would have loved to continue it but the sales wern't there to support it! I'd blame the general gaming public more than Sega! :)

I remember really looking forward to Half Life and the exclusive content Blue Shift (that later became a PC stand alone). It even got as far as being reviewed by a number of magazines but then got scrapped before it got chance to go to retail.

Gears of War 2 - The final boss without spoiling it was the biggest dissapointment ever, It was very easy and over far too quickly, long gone are the days of Zelda bosses that would take you 30 minutes to kill.

Halo 1, my mate bigged this game up for months that it was the greatest game ever made. I was severely let down when it looked no better than half life which at the time was 3 years old :(

MW

Can I have a ride in that time machine of yours?

With games costing so much to make the chances of seeing a new game that continues from a years old game that wasn't really very popular and had a deep established story line is very, very slim I'm afraid. :(
