I have had enough with the limitation of my 50gb monthly cap, and seeing this ISP it gives you a 60gb monthly cap, but most importantly its unlimited downloading between midnight-9am during the week, and all weekends!

As I could download mostly at these times, it makes it a very cheap deal for me, getting a nearly unlimited service, not being strangled with the limits all weekend.

If anyone that is in the non-LLU & non-cable, and has this service please let me know your thoughts, as im seriously considering jumping ship and moving over to this service, as this is such a good deal its too good to miss

ADSL24's non LLU connections are provided by Enta so the performance will be very much dependent on whereabouts in the country you are. Rather than using BT Centrals Enta are now on IP Stream Connect which means that the connections leave the BT network at 10 geographic locations and if you happen to be connected to a congested one then there's nothing you can do about it.

On the other hand if you're on a node which is quiet then the service is pretty decent.

Ive been with ADSL24 for about 2 years now i think.

I get the max connection of 8mb and i've only ever had any kind of slowdown once when they started moving over to the new system, after a week or so it started to pickup and work as normal.

It is very tempting to switch over to these people, I thought I would ask here because I saw quite a few reviews elsewhere that said what a slow system this was and quite a few unhappy customers, which made me wonder if it was worth the switch over.

It was the free unmetered weekends which made me really think about going to them!

my brother is with titan on their LLU service he says they rock and its the best move he ever made. he was on the enta products and switched to titans llu and he gets a solid 24meg connection.

I dont have LLU, so my options are very limited. I know how good the LLU services are, but im trying to find a service that gives me the best speed for the cheapest. I know I can expect to pay anywhere upto £30 a month, and if this ADSL24 ISP is really good, I will be switching, primarily because of the unmetered weekends, which is when I spend most of my time online

Nope, not all the enta resellers offer the weekend unmetered services, seeing as I am with an ISP that is kind of an enta reseller themselves (Cerberus) and I only get a 50gb cap with no free unmetered times no matter what time of the day, night or weekends

Just to confirm (ADSL24)

8am - 12MidNight = Cap (whichever package you go for)
12Midnight Friday - 8am Monday = Totaly Free Userage not counted against cap.

I wish that my package gave me that same option. I am very tempted to move, because for the same money I am paying now, I would be getting an extra 10gb of monthly usage limits (currently on 50gb) and then the midnight-9am & weekends of free unmetered really makes me want to move to them, only the horror story reviews elsewhere on the internet has stopped me moving over

Shall I assume that this is a very good package, or is it like Dial-Up services at the evenings & weekends? This is something I would be very worried about, as I dont want to move over to them and realise the service is no good and really slow

I can only comment on the Edinburgh node and it's actually pretty good these days. The speed limiting ALT tool (which keeps node capcity in check) barely kicked in over the weekend and seems to only activate between 0000 and about 0200 during the week.

I'd try and get an opinion from someone nearby to get an idea of what your local node would be like.

Remember ADSL24 non LLU only ties you to a 1 month contract ... so really you got nothing to lose in giving it a try.

I was on the non LLU (switched over with them onto LLU package) with them and could not fault them. When I switched to the new LLU package I had a slight hiccup (router settings at my end) on transfer day .... this was fixed by a tech guy that called me and spent 1hr 20mins sorting the problem.

It sounds like a very good service, I might decide to give them a try, will have to see if my current service is a 12-month contract, as I remember the guy saying that I would need to give 3 months notice period if I wished to leave them.

Which location in the UK are you in mate?

I have heard some bad reports about this ISP, thats the only thing that is holding me back, and some very negative comments about the ALT service. It only had 1 month contract so maybe I should give this company a go?

mate every ISP has someone knocking it .... but VERY few offer 1 month contracts (non LLU only) and this says a lot ... as mentioned before you got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Im just a bit hesistant because I imagine the "node" near me would be pretty bad, seeing as im not too far away from London, so would probably get connected there, which might be over subscribed
