And I only just got a Magic :D

I suppose if the off contract price is OK I can sell the magic and get the Hero \m/

But so far so good, much improved from the early preview videos showed it to be.

I don't care about the chin, that's one hell of a nice looking phone with these features:

A fingerprint coating screen and teflon casing, multitouch, FLASH, a better camera....just what the doc ordered :D

The only thing now that the iPhone wins over the Hero is onboard memory - the Hero beats it everywhere else :D

I've had a play with that with the new Android OS installed - very cool and much more polished to look at than the current Android. The screen is very nice and equally as responsive as the Magic and the G1 but build wise it feels nicer. It has 7 home screens and a theme type system based on usage relevant profiles, i.e. if you use web stuff lots then you can have your 7 screens set up for web apps, if you game lots etc. etc. etc.

All in all a better phone than the Magic, but I'd have to say still not the one that I'm going to be going for - the capabilities have still not moved along enough and processing power wise it's not far enough advanced over the current Android phones.

Ding Ding we have a winner!!!

That is one nice looking phone and it is packed with everything I want :) I have a Touch HD at the mo but am getting fed up of Win Mobile so want to try Android. Had been looking at the iphone but the price put me off and also having to change to O2 did as well. I just hope that Expansys get this phone and I can buy it outright sim free and sell me Touch :)

Ooo just seen that it can also display flash websites, yey.

I guess the XDA devs will be all over this which means only one thing, I might be able to root my Magic and put Rosie on it :O

Wonder if it's more optimised to give better battery life?

I want to keep the Magic as it sleeps in my pocket without issue which I imagine teh Hero won't do with the chin but I'm not mega fiussed about that as the rest of the spec is win.

Rubbish resolution though.

Don't think I could ever step down from my Touch HD's massive 800x480 screen.

It's no different to current models?

Methinks you've not used Android phones yet (the multiple home screens) which gives near infinite customisation and icon placements without looking bulky or pixellated one single bit :p

I have. However, I wonder if you've used a phone with an 800x480 screen - the difference is night and day.

Yes the LG KM and the difference in resolution is visible yes but the responsiveness and visual appeal of Android is just better all round, so much so that a higher res is not needed really on current Android phones.

Oh I agree, which why I'm eagerly awaiting a cooked Android rom for the Touch HD (only a few weeks away on XDA dev).

Is Android going to be fully featured on TouchHD though hardware wise? does it have all the nice stuff that Android phones have?

Ooooh now this looks the part...really nice looking phone....oh well sadly im stuck in a 24mth contract with Voda so will just have to wait till it finishes...probably by that time much nicer and better looking android phones will be out.

But definitely a very sexy device.

Actually you're right, 18 phones coming this year running Android, I have an 18month contract too so will just see how the competition fares :D

Looks like a very nice phone that - depends how bulky it is in real life (doesn;t look like it will be).
But what's up with putting a chin on the phone? Just means it would poke out in places i.e your pocket?

...but you also won't be downloading any apps over the air -- sideloading only kids.

WTH..

Why would they just go and butcher it like that.

Edit: Unless someone modifies the rom..

Edit2: Ok its the firmware not the apps, i'd be happy with that anyway.

I think I wont be getting an android until November 2009. Loads of Android devices coming out this year and 18 months is a long time to not be 100% happy.

Glad I didnt sign up to the Magic now :P
