My 260GTX is completely blocking ALL of my SATA ports and I have 2 SATA HD's that I want to connect. I have hacked one of the cables connector to bits so that it turns flush with the mobo as soon as it comes out of the SATA socket, but I want a more permanent solution.
Are the options:
Get new mobo?
RAID controller card?

did any sata cables come with a 90 degree end? my motherboard came with 2 like that. depending on how much clearance there is you might not need to buy a new mobo. just look for a few 90 degree sata cables

I've had the same problem near enough with a couple of my SATA ports.

Unless your GC is closer to the board than mine (unlikely due to the height of the PCIE connector;)), it should be possible as mentioned to use either 90 degree connectors, or to bend the cable right over (not great for the cable but as long as it's not moved too much it shouldn't be a problem).

It's one of those things that annoys me rather a lot when I'm building machines, especially as once the GC is in it's almost impossible to put the connectors into those ports (i've taken to putting cables in them, even if i'm not planning on using that port straight away).

I think thats too high. It looks like 2-3cm's above the socket and I dont have that much room! I will take pics when I cannabalize my other cable to try and get the two HD's connected.
