Anyone you know got the Flu yet?

Quite a few. There is no vaccine, but a cure is easily available.

A primary school in east London had to close because of a pupil getting it.. within a week they discovered 18 other pupils had it. All have recovered without problem.

Honestly, this flu is far less dangerous than the real flu, it's just more contagious. Get over it, please.

I don't know anybody with a confirmed case, however, I do know 3 people who have the flu and awaiting confirmation that it is swine flu at Exeter Uni.

It's stupid, as I'm having to wait around for ~2 weeks for my results to come out and have a meeting when I could be safer at home! If more students get it, I would expect the meeting to be cancelled anyway.

what's the actual difference between normal flu and swine flu, because i bet half the people diagnosed with it just have normal flu :D

Every other 999 call i've taken whilst being at work 'thinks' they have Swine Flu..

Oh Hai NHS Direct.

The school I work at has had one confirmed case and three suspected cases.

The school hasn't closed yet, but my local area (Watford, Bushey Hertsmere) is a known Hot Spot, so I think it's only a matter of time :(

Both my sisters seemed to think I had it last week - I however think I just had a cold and/or a bad case of hayfever. Never used to have hayfever when I was at school, I seemed to have developed it in the past 6 or 7 years or so.

My wife is a GP and my daughter is a nurse, apparently they get no end of people charging in the doctors surgeries and hospitals thinking they've got swine flu and need immediate treatment.

Not sure on how many they've seen who actually have it though.

I work in a hospital path lab, occasionally we get up ?swine flu samples but they're normally thrice sealed and packed straight off to the microbiology dept elsewhere in the Trust. Got one down in the A&E lab t'other day though, just dropped in in a bag for basic tests;electrolytes, liver functions, CRP & bloodworks, it was only when I looked at the clinical details that I saw 'flu-like symptoms'. It worked out well for me - it's not too often a lowly lab tech like I gets to shout at a doctor over her imcompetence.

I wonder how the people who act like its a death sentence would react if they caught a real deadly disease.

Well I have a really bad cold at the minute but doubt its swine flu,

Getting the usual just a sore throat and runny nose and feel very achey.

I've got a sore throat, and sneezing quite a bit. I'm putting it down to hayfever though as its only appeared over the last few days. :)
