BFG RMA question

I have had to RMA my BFG 8800 GTS 512 OC, what kind of turnaround times am I looking at?

If for some reason it is not possible to repair the card, what can I expect as a replacement?
I ask this as the card was running in SLi, a series change would = no more SLi:(

Shoot me an email with your contact details, and we can discuss how we will work this out. I'm sure that we can find a reasonable solution for you though.

Quick question,

Just received a replacement 9800GTX for my 8800GTS RMA. Do I need to register the replacement card for warranty???

Just a thank you note to you Jeff. Thanks very much for having sorted out my graphics card :) and I hope you continue working for BFG as a miracle worker!
I'm now the proud owner of a new BFG GTX 280OC and it's running beautifully, getting me a score of 15174 on 3D Mark 06.

Just out of curiosity though, because this is a new card, how does the warranty work on this one? Should I register it on your website which will activate the 10 year warranty?

Thanks again...

Thought I'd ressurect this thread as opposed to starting a new one. Just got confirmation from the RMA status that my RMA has been processed and has been shipped. Does this necessarily mean the card was faulty?

I am seriously hoping that it was indeed the card that caused the problem.

Is Jeff still dealing with the RMA's i sent him a email beginning of the week when i got back in the UK as i need kinda a fast RMA turn around before i move to spain. BTW what do you think i might get back for my 8800GT as they seem discontinued on BFGs site. also is it worth maybe sending in my old agp 7600?

Yeah, I'm still around. Phobos has been consuming much of my time, sorry for the delay guys. I tried to get to all the emails I could today, if I didn't get back to you today, I'll try to get to that in the morning.

i appreciate a BFG rep in here just in case, nice to see :) Have to send in my 8800 GTX shortly so it's a comfort. (mine is the one with 2d issues)

So just print off those forms and send it to the Wales address and all is good? What sort of replacement part would i be looking at here as the GTX has been discontinued for a while now?

Cheers,

James.

Probably a 260 GTX or even a 280 if your lucky.

I've got a 260 GTX OCX Maxcore that may need be needing an RMA, won't know until new rig is built, would be nice to have the same card back as I SLi.

Jeff, when getting back an RMA and looking at tracking, does the invoice number give a clue as to what's being sent back? mine sort of suggest i'm getting an 8800 GTX OC back: GF88768GTXOCE

Jeff was a massive help sorting out my problem, my 8800GTS 320MB OC2 was swapped for a 9600GT 512MB OC, which according to tom's hardware is a 2 tier improvement ( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/best-graphics-card,review-31635-6.html ).

It took about one week for the complete turn-around, from me sending my card off until the new card arrived. A massive thank you to Jeff and everyone else who helped make this happen.

I'm guessing you meant 9800 GT, not 9600 GT, because if they really sent you a 9600 GT you have been utterly shafted and should get in contact with BFG ASAP.

SP's: 64 vs 96,
256 bit memory interface vs 320 bit

both are the same tech, so aside from the 512mb vs 320MB it's a significant downgrade.

They should have given you an 8800 GT or GTS, or a 9800 GT, not a 9600 card. Without doubt get in touch with them again and i'm sure they will replace it with something better.
