Rest In Peace Michael Jackson (No Disrespect Posts)

Anyone else notice the unusually poor sound quality of some of the songs on BBC2 right now? Doesn't do him justice, some of his tracks are fantastically produced.

I was listening to off the wall today in my car and its a great album thats sounds as fresh today as it did in 1979.

I'm sad MJ is gone.

I saw him in aintree when i was about 15 and it was one of the best gigs I have ever seen.

I never get emotional over people I don't know.

But somehow MJ death has caused me some reflection.

So many Boring artists these days with delusions of grandeur. Chris Martin thinking people will actually listen to Cold play in years to come for example:p

MJ was uinique, with untouchable talent and musicianship.

Anyone who thinks they are a musician and cannot see how great he was is foolhardy and up their own ass.

It's very sad for him to not have had one last shot of putting some of the crap of the past 15 years or so behind him publicly.

Like a few others have mentioned, I'm not one for public outpourings of sadness for celebrities and people I don't know, but even though I'm 25 (and thus missed his best era) I feel I've grown up with Jacko. Just feel a tinge of sadness and have had quite a few moments of reflection.

I think some people underestimate music and the attachment people can feel to artists because of their music - there are many occasions in my life I can tie to a song or an album, eliciting a whole variety of feelings. Just hearing 1 particular Blink 182 song today made me feel 16 again. Someone such as Jacko and the sheer amount of brilliant music he released will surely have played a part in a ton of people's memories so I certainly understand the sadness at his passing, as I feel it too.

RIP MJ.

Agree 100% easyrider - absolute legend, unique in every sense of the word - and his music will never die - i have 8 year old cousins who are distraught they wont see him in concert. His work spans at least 3 generations and will last many more to come. It is a huge loss to the music industry - nobody comes close to the sheer number of hits / sales he achieved - all music now is pretty much cack compared.

RIP MJ - the king is dead - long live the king.....

Last week when I was on there, his name wasn't even in the list. Look at it now?

Rest in peace, I still can't believe he's dead :(

Not sure if it's been posted but check this -

The reactions of the crowd are hilarious. About 50 people faint and get carried away on stretchers. :D

Oh, and Stephen Hawkins crowd surfs?

RIP Michael.

And that video is legendary. Wow. Fair play no one else in this world would be able to get a crowd going like that except maybe Freddie Mercury. :)

RIP Michael , when i was a kid in early 80's i was watching him making that moonwalk and i was left stunned . Was he one of the greatest dancers/show performers of all time?

Don't see how people can not get that any good hearted person who has thought about it would show a bit of respect for the deceased, if not in saying something nice then at least not saying anything. It's a sensitive time for anyone who cared about the person and though it's a little different with celebrities there's no good reason the same principles should not be applied.

RIP Michael Jackson, it's a shame that the aftermath is gonna be so ugly.
