Will be getting a system with 6gb DDR3 memory Core I7 1tb hard drive. So that is all future proof for few years im guessing.

But next gen Graphics cards out later this year arnt they?

Having 1 4890 card will do for now, but when adding a 2nd, how do you think that will compare to the next gen cards?

I know hard to tell, but surely 2 4890 cards will compete with the new cards coming out. Or do you reckon new ones will be whole different ball game?

I do not know but I doubt there will be a radical difference. Truth is what you have will still play games very, very well for some time to come.

What res do you play at? Adding another card will provide up to double the performance but if your only gaming at low res then it might not be "worth" it.

Oh sorry to confuse, don't actually have the system yet, will be ordering it tomorrow. I was just wondering for future proof how 2 4890's would stand up against next gen cards.

If past launches are anything to go by, the new high end cards will about as fast as CrossFire 4890s, but obviously without the disadvantages that CrossFire can bring and the power and heat output requirements.
