Top Gear Returns Sunday 21st June 2009

Decent Ep. The Lambo was awesome - sounded amazing!
The McLaren vs the Veyron was great - wish they had races between more supercars like that :D

In one of clarksons old videos he had a load of cars all doing a drag race in which a Cerbera won - would love to see something again with the Veyron, Zonda, Murcielago, F1, Enzo, Koenigsegg and other 'hypercars' :D

I felt that ep was a little overly scripted and daft, I mean it normally is scripted and daft but this was OTT.

And am I the only one who finds it rather dubious that an IR remote like that would work in that situation?

We must be right miserable gits here! The whole challenge section was so painfully contrived. My brother and his girlfriend who used to love it groaned and got up after the shed got 'accidently' crushed and went to watch a film, leaving me to F.Forward it to the decent stuff (the Stephen Fry interview was good and so were the supercar bits). The pretty girls in the audience thing is getting a bit OTT now, it's completely distracting me from enjoying a car programme :-D

I agree, its still relatively entertaining but bordering on stupid and predictable. I would rather learn something about the car rather than the 0-60 time. But hey ho it wasted an hour.

Yeah exactly. I've always accepted that a lot of it is scripted, but now it seems overly so. It makes the episodes of a couple of seasons back look totally improvised!

I guess they know that people like the interplay between the three of them and they have to prepare lots of opportunities to exploit that.

What you rolling your eyes at? I'm not allowed to dislike an episode of the oh so holy Top Gear?

I realise it's necessary for the show to be scripted, but this was just so contrived and predictable.. When stuff is happening that's too obviously fake it just spoils it IMO.

Morecambe and Wise was totally scripted, didn't make it any less entertaining!

Enjoyed tonights episode, the Abu Dhabi bit was totally different to how I was expecting really, loved hearing that SV again.

And Hammond had some Pear Drops sitting on his.

Didn't notice that.

May must have had something on his desk too...

Loved this Episode. Great challenge. Couldn't stop laughing when Jezza hit that summer house thing :D Got even better when James' 'Woofers started up... haha :p :D

What a car that 'Murcielago LP - Ive got 670 horses with 4 wheel drive, coupled with a Halfords SV badge on the back.co.youdidntexpectthatdidyou.uk!' Shocked me how quick the thing is.

Also, Im not the biggest Veyron fan but how good did it look in red? Brilliant race vs the F1. It was super quick off the start... should have been a standard 1/4 race tbh :p

Overall, great episode once more. Very entertaining!

Oh, did you see the studio girls? OMG.... :p

I've not got a problem with it being scripted, it's being obviously scripted and predictable...
