**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

First Kaka and now Eto...whos now saying he was never interested in Man City:p...says a lot for Man City if they cant get these top class players...no matter how much money they throw at them:D.

We can be sure that any big name player who joins City this season is only doing so for the money. They're not even in Europe.

Indeed and i will say it again as i have said to people in the past...Man City need to get rid of Hughes...he hasnt the calibre that say a Wenger, Mourinho or a Fergie type of manager...with him in charge im sorry to say that they wont get into Europe unless they are very lucky and even then they wont get very far...i know they are trying hard to be the next chelski but without a proven manager who has won trophies...i cant see any top class player wanting to join them yet.

Well it would be two of Tevez, Eto'o and Roque, when all three are fit. Bellamy and Benjani wouldn't get much of a look-in. I'd be surprised if they were both present at the start of the season.

Yeah, Gibson has looked good.

Gibson has been garbage every match apart from the last game against Hull, where he was average, Welbeck is so poor its not funny, Macheda lloks like a 17 year old striker, thats about all I can say about him, at least he has the build for it.

lol really? He Knows where the goal is. Past that, he could be Alan Smith in the middle.
As for your comments on Macheda/Welbeck, I am unsure what you have seen in their combined 5 matches or so of football to make you think they are so bad.
Macheda has taken two chances very well and other than that, looked busy and hard working without much service (he generally played in weaker lineups)
Welbeck can look a bit clumsy at times, as he is so long legged but he is quick, direct and has a cool finish.
Certainly far too early to expect big things from such young players but "rubbish and poor"?
Nonsense.

I feel so sorry for some of the united supporters on this forum, they're so hard done by

Macheda and Welbeck haven't impressed me, I don't understand all this ****ing over them either. Macheda, scores one impressive goal and he's the next superstar, Welbeck, continues to look lost and very lanky, almost clumsy and ineffective in the first team, and he's the next big thing.

I have been more impressed by Gibson, and he's calm on the ball, he looks like he might play a bigger role this coming season.

Macheda and Welbeck, could be the next two best players in the history of the world. I shall hold judgement until they start playing well, or indeed start getting in to the first team.

Macheda and Wellback both look raw but their talent is obvious, to me Gibson looks pretty average and has not impressed me at all.

Gibson looks the best of the lot, very composed and, given a couple of years, can control the midfield as Carrick/Alonso/Scholes do.

Wellbeck has a lot of ability, but I'm not really sure what he does yet. He looks like he should be a target man type of striker, but looks better coming from slightly deeper.

Macheda hasn't really had the chance to do that much yet, aside from those two goals (arguably the most important of your season!) He strikes me as a bit of a fox in the box. Reckon he could go either way.
