Don`t you love political correctness...

The vast majority of people don't care or won't even be offended unless they're told. It's just the latest journo having a jerk off to the pc spiel that is somehow printable.

She probably used it as an excuse anyway. Maybe they were crap.

It's utterly ridiculous...

It's a tradition, and so over the top to ban them...
what next?
No black tights on women because its like they have black legs and thats racially offensive? :S

This country needs to get a grip of what ACTUALLY offends people and what doesn't.

Morris dancers are about the only thing on this planet I actually find offensive. Grown men prancing around in ribbons and flowers with little bells..seriously, WTF. Ban the lot of 'em.

It's a bit over the top to say they are banned isn't it? The school just declined to take up their initial interest in booking them for the evening.

I don't think it's PC so much as being lazy - we all know full well if the history and tradition of morris dancing was explained - the significance of it beyond grown men making fools of themselves - that nobody would be offended.

If they just throw them on a stage as entertainment with no back story or introduction, yes maybe some people would think gollywog and make a scene.

So which of those two options were the school looking for? Informed educational event, or entertainment?

I think it says more about school's priorities these days than pc.

Agreed, personally i'd let them make a scene and put them in their place. Lets weed out these idiots
