It's not long till Fairford again (hopefully it won't be cancelled this year!), and i'm wondering if anyone is going? I went to Farnborough instead last year which was excellent, but can be a bit too corporate I find. This will be my first RIAT and i'm heading over with a few friends, so should be good :)

I'm not sure if they've finalised the line up, but things i'm looking out for:

Vulcan - Seeing the Vulcan take-off at Farnborough was one of the greatest things i've ever seen. The noise and the smell of the jet fuel was simply epic.
Red Arrows - Seen them loads of times but they never fail to impress.
Rafale
B52
Battle of Britain group
Typhoon - Good display at Farnborough last year, hoping for the same

Only letdown so far is that they couldn't get the F22 again, would have really liked to have seen that in action :(

Probably not this year, last went in 2007 i think, when the thunderbirds displayed. Was good and its definately the best airshow but its a long drive and is expensive. I may go if they get an F22 again :)

Went when I was like 5 in corporate hospitality and got scared! :p

Have been in 2006 & 2007, and had tickets for 2008 but the weather called it off :(, and this year I'm busy that weekend.

I'll be there, outside the fence Sat and inside Sun.

You can add an Alphajet and Grippens to your list as well :D

Hanging from fences again hey ;).

Surprised you've not been here taking pics of the USAF F-15 crawling all over the place.

Still haven't been to a RIAT yet, I may have to get myself on it next year and see what all the fuss is about. I hear the end of show party is brilliant.

:D

Sadly I'm working this week so no F-15Es for me but catching them in LFA 7 last week I don't mind. ;)

lol when googleing Grippens one of the first results was this

http://www.cas2.com/Jas39Gripen.htm

the guy is selling 388 of them and 400 leopard 2 tanks >.<

someone needs to email him and try to buy one :p

I'd lol if it was true.

Tempting!

Yes. I've bought myself a 450D and 70-300 IS for the occasion. If it gets rained upon again this year I might have to kill whoever is responsible - and if that's God, then so be it. :p

PS - never done air show photography on a DSLR, so I hope I'm a quick study.

Vulcan is not even on the list of aircraft flying? or am I being blind?

Might go to Waddington this weekend.
