FAIL!

Filled a 2 week old diesel Range Rover with unleaded once, as you can imagine i got a little bit of stick in the office for a while :P . Im sure a lot of people on here have done worse without owning upto it though :D

And what are all your car "FAIL" moments?

Not a car, but try pouring diesel into a Chieftain tank on a rolling replen in the dark in a wood in Germany, without opening the second fuel cap. Unsurprisingly it can't be done - diesel all over the back decks!

Never ceases to amaze me what people will pit down the wrong holes.

Bonnets really should be sealed. Maybe an electronic bonnet release, and an iDrive like thing asks you engine trivia questions before you can get in...

NOthing to do with fuel, however. There was a chap on an American forum who put energy drink (NOS) into his tank for better performance... that was good. :)

Graunching gears on my driving test was somewhat embarassing, as is my complete inability to change gear in my current Gocus C-MAX. I've not had too many FTL moments in my car, other than buying lots of stuff from Halfrauds...

I now want to fill my washer jets with some 50 weight oil. Hopefully I'll have sobered up before the motor factors open. I might also put water in the sump and blancmange in the radiator for the lols.

No offence but you drive an Alfa, you would spend half your life answering questions.

My main "fail" moment was in my old 1.25fiesta. I was out doing one of my first random drives alone, and i was getting low on petrol. took ages to find a garage, but i found a BP and i was fine (only ever used Tesco or BP)... I picked up the green pump and started filling. Its only when i got to £20 i realized i was paying £2 a litre for that 102octane fuel they sell at a few forecourts... and that was when petrol cost 80p per litre  It didn't make the 1.25lx any faster and it was all gone by the time i got home :( :p

Just lets get this straight here a minute !!!
You borrowed your Girl friends Dads car & put anti freeze in the washer bottle & then posted it on a Public forum that is Notorious for it's stretchable sense of humour.

There is so much Fail in this thread it reaches the Black hole of Fail & then reverts into Quality, You Sir Win when it comes to Fail. :D

Well seeing as most of her family and my family know (thanks to the wonders of phones :o) and i've heard nothing but jokes and ribbings about it for the last two days, I thought I may as well post on here about it.

LOL

"F1 fuel for the road"

Giggidy.

Silliest thing I've done would be opening the bonnet from the cabin in preparation to check the radiator fan was still working, then it turning on, so I didn't need to open it and I got distracted and forgot to go close the bonnet again. Three days and 50 miles later on NSL roads, I notice the bonnet's only held down by the safety latch :o

I have to win...

with my 2nd car (which I got 3 months after my first which was when I passed my test when I was 18.. I'm now 32 so a looooooong time ago) a fiesta XR2, I thought it might need some oil so I opened up the filler cap to find NO VISIBLE OIL OMG!!!!!!111!!!

So I proceeded to fill it... literally

And ****** the engine..

One way to learn how not to do it!
