Beverage Chiller inside case?

Hey mates,
I was doing some web surfing and came across someone who claimed they put a usb beverage chiller inside their case and it lower temps enough to give them a slightly larger OC. They had no evidence to back this up though I am curious to try this as those things don't seem to be too expensive and if nothing else, it will at least keep a drink cold, I hope.

Anyone ever tried this or does anyone have a beverage chiller that they could try this with and tell us the result?

Put it inside your case and use something like real temps to see if it has any effect.

You would think if cold air sinks, put it upside down at the top of the case maybe?

I'm really not sure how to go about it really.

I think theres a vent at the rear that gets rid of the warm air it creates so maybe that should be stuck out. Iv just realised a rather large flaw in my plan.... I have no case.

Cold air does not sink, hot air rises. There is a difference.

All it'll be is a very basic, low-powered peltier (TEC)

The "cold" side is where you put the drink, the "hot" side will be on the other, with a small heat-sink attached.

What effect will it have? Almost nothing, to be honest.

All it does is move heat from one spot to another... so you could put it on the edge of a case with the cold side inside and the warm side out to transfer the heat away from the inside of teh case but I doubt a USB cooler would make enough difference to even allow an extra 0.01% on an overclock.

Yeah, low power tec. It makes one side cold, the other hot. Its not 100% efficient, so if you put the entire thing in your case it will make your case hotter.

Like running a fridge with the door open in summer. Gets you a hotter room and higher bills.
