So here she is then, I took the external pictures with my phone at my grandparents house, so forgive the quality, the interior I did at home with a proper camera though.

If you didn't see the other thread I made last week before I got her, then I guess I better tell you exactly what's what, it's a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 3.5 V8 Sport, in Ultimate Black with Barley leather interior and all the usual refinements. It has 18" alloys, twin stainless steel exhausts, the entire body shell is made of aluminium, making it weigh a mere 1,615kg, which is very light for a car this size. The 3,555 cc short stroke lightweight V8 pumps out a not so amazing 263bhp, and 254lbs/ft of torque. This actually works perfectly well in a car weighing only as much as a smaller typical V6/l6 executive saloon though, so you get plenty of oomph, the torque is quite nice and the 6 speed ZF autobox is very, very smooth.

I need to give it a good polish and wax and lavish some time on it, to make it good as new, but I'm very pleased with it so far, drives beautifully. It had a full service this morning, had all it's major fluids changed and it purrs along smooth as silk, yet roars and grunts like a V8 should when I put my toe down :D ...I love it. It is rather large though, takes a bit of getting used to, even after driving the fairly sizable Mondeo MK3, this is in a different league though, in so many ways.

Amazing amount of car for less than £11k.

Very nice car, they really do have something about them. Bet you're pleased you didn't buy that Boxster now ;)

I am more than pleased I didn't buy that Boxster, this is much more me, what a car, I just love it, I feel really chuffed :D ...I can hardly belive it's all mine at the moment :D

Oh I forgot to take a picture of the engine.

Glad you like it

Personally i don't like the look of it at all and to be honest the interior looks a lot more cramped than what i expected from those photos you took. Just looks like car to me, nothing special :(

Well I never heard anyone say that the MK3 Mondeo was low rent, and my ST220's interior was nowhere close to this one. It's better than the E46 BMW 330CI I had too, low rent isn't something I have ever heard anyone use to describe the aluminium bodied XJ's, some of the earlier cars yea, sure.

I'd put it up against a S class or a 7 series of the same age anyday. Although I do think the Audi A8 is the absolute last word in interiors at this level.

The cheaper jags like the X type are a bit plasticy (worse than the mondeo its based on) but that looks a million times better!

It is actually :D almost feels like I shouldn't be driving it muwhaha. I like it a lot, I bought it outright with my own money, no debt, I am aware of the running costs, so why the hell not I say :D

Why not ? ...I'm assuming you don't care for the same sort of cars, but lets put that aside and assume that you do, or are simply me, so why wouldn't you if you could ?

I've had sporty BMW's, diesel hatchbacks, petrol superminis, diesel family cars, performance saloons and such before anyway. I've been driving 8 years now, this is my 6th car in that time.

Personal tastes and all that, not all 19 year olds need to hoon about in pile of crap saxos.

Not all 25 year olds need to drive foci/golfs. Its a lovely looking car IMO, who cares how old he is
