Will you take the Swine Flu Jab?

I find it a bit odd the attention it's had in the news, if it got serious would they and could they try to force it upon people? If they were to rush out some new batch of vaccine and tried to force it on you, who here would accept it?

apparntly the 3 year old next door has swine flu...:S does she really have it though? not sure :D but all the babies from the nusery around here and going to be tested for it i guess.

Probably just has the sniffles and the mother decided it must be swine flu.

Has she contacted the papers yet?

I wont be taking it...

Swine flu is no more dangerous than normal flu.

In the end of the day why would I want to take a drug thats not had proper testing so that the govenment and drug companys get a bit of £$£$£$£$

Even doctors say Swine Flu is all overblown.

No need for it. It's just another form of flu. I would rather gain natural immunity from it via natural means. It's extremely unlikely to kill you. You're more likely to be ran over whilst crossing the road.

what exactly is the vaccine, I've seen lots of people say vaccine but no name of it, they don't I pray mean Tamiflu do they, they mean an actual vaccine and not an anti viral.

Also anyone read about the figures for Swine flu, i keep seeing 10k cases confirmed, is that real or is that every single person whose phoned a doctor described flu like symptoms and been given a perscription? Or is it really 10k confirmed cases and however many thousand more unconfirmed cases? Frankly I've completely ignored all news on it till now as its the flu, nothing more or less, couldn't give a monkeys if I get it or not.

Just interested in the reality behind it and which stats are accurate and which are just completely made up.

Not to offend but could someone with a modicum of common sense possibly answer rather than the select few conspiracy theorists as, if I'm honest, I couldn't give a monkeys what you have to say on the subject.

When you have Flu you are boiling but freezing, don't have the strength to move, don't have the ability to get comfortable so are always moving, will be drenched in sweat, have an aversion to light, be unable to focus or concentrate on anything.

I don't believe I've ever had Flu, if I have I was very young, but having seen what it did to my Dad I wouldn't fancy it. I've had bad colds, which a lot of people will refer to as Flu. Same as people calling bad headaches migraines.

+1 for description

I've had 2 flu's in my life, I remember both of them well, people can average 5 or 6 colds a year, some so mild you might just feel a bit 'down' for a day or two, but a flu you will remember. You'll feel awful and wish it was 96 hours later, or that you were dead.

wow there's a lot of crack pots in here. Is you life taht boring you have to belive in conspiracy theorys.

I don't like taking drugs unless needed. So until we start approaching epidemic levels then no. If we reach hose levels then I wouldn't hesitate and take it.

its a gobal pandemic so numbers are going up just this week i now know of 7 people who have it, 2 where I work ( well there kids) its just a matter of time now until I get it I fear and with a 6 year old and a 2 week old baby I am worried !

But remember
THAT THE UK IS BEST PLACED TO FACE THE SWINE FLU PANDEMIC

is it me or are we always best placed according to Mr (bulls***) Brown ??

Tamiflu resistant strains have been found in japan, norway and hong-kong so far
