OK - I am just about sick of all the self righteous smug crap that comes with the iPhone. (I have one and I hate it)

This is a spot for all my fellow iPhone haters to discuss how much of a pile of crap it is.

I dislike Apple smugness but the iphone isnt crap, sorry! It cant multitask - thats its biggest weakness. Slightly pathetic thread imo.

The new advert makes me laugh, as it ONLY says the 3Gs can copy and paste, copy and paste, yes copy and paste. OOhhhhhh other phones have done this for years lol

This! I couldn't believe they are selling a whole new phone on that fact... apple users are morons though so this is probably a big step for them!

I'm an apple hater, roll on the hero :)

I have three home friends with iPhones (none of my uni friends do!) and they all fit the stereotype, one works in recruitment and wears sleveless jumpers, the other is very camp, and the third is a bit of a computer nerd... :D

Ahh, the apple stereotype, being correct since 1990... :p

The iPhone is a good little starter phone (in the sense that in a few years when it has ccaught up with other phones for features and been decrippled), but it's missing way too many features to be really top of the pile, then add the fact it's been crippled by Apples obsession with controlling everything on it and forcing you to use itunes to load/buy stuff from!

Can you actually load apps on to it that aren't in the apps store?

Yes, but you have to jailbreak it.

Which begs the question, why?!

And the only one I can come up with is profit, if people could sell their apps themselves they wouldn't have to pay apple commission...

I'm starting to think of Apple as the computer equivilent of DFS (Deferred Financial Solutions), who only went in to sofas as it was an easy way for their true business to make money!

dont surprise me that they go on about copy and paste when it seems a necessity.

i think they are good to have a play with, but dont want one.

Best phone I've ever owned, 2 best phones I've ever owned actually. 2g, 3g.

Functional, ease to use, cracking web browser and email functionality. Just keeps getting better, admittedly it's taken 3 iterations of the software but hey. We're there now.

To the OP, if you don't like it. Sell it, get something else. Move on. Life is too short.

I can't work myself up about the iPhone myself, the UI although ok is getting on a bit in my books, and the phone itself isn't exactly the most attractive around. I really wanted an iTouch when the first came out, when they looked new and sophisticated, however the forcing you to use iTunes destroyed that for me, luckily, because I now have a Touch HD, which does everything the iTouch does, but better (and I can just drag and drop if I want)!

I hated everything apple a month ago. But the iPhone is one of the best phones I have had. It's not perfect but much better than other phones I have tried recently.

I had a 5800 for a few months and was quite happy with it, I used it for the first time in a few weeks last night and realised it fails badly in comparison.

Same here, just can't see what the big deal is with them. Don't get me wrong, i love my iPod Touch, but that has a specific purpose. I just don't see point in a piece of hardware that can be crammed full of apps, games, net connection, etc, etc, allow you to do sooooooo much on your way to work, but then the battery runs out halfway throughout the day 'cos you've wasted its juice earlier in the morning!

*(see what I did there!)

If you can flatten the battery in half a day you have way too much time on your hands.

Lowest mine has ever been is 40% left after 1 day, admittedly it's never going to last a second day without a charge.
