I take it you never played the multiplayer component as saying that has remained virtually identical would be hilarious.

COD2 introduced:

A stupid radar system.
Guns with barely any recoil.
Regenerating health so simply wounding someone had little effect if they could run away or hide somewhere.
A shotgun that semed pretty handy at taking down people from stupidly long ranges.

And all this crap was introduced when the game went multi format, we got an xbox 360 game with some graphics options and that was it. Playing cod1 online and cod2 is like night and day, cod1 is an actual pc game, cod2 has "CONSOLE PORT" slapped all over it. They couldnt even be bothered to actually change the pc multi to remove the consolised turd it came with.

Ever since cod1 and the expansion the game has just been tailored to suit consoles and then ported to pc.

Yeah but none of those things are exactly massively detrimental to the overall gameplay. All of those thing you've listed are pretty minor and the fact is the main mechanics haven't changed. I agree, regenerating health is going to make it easier but that's about it.
 
the nvg is just a toy. correct me if im wrong but.. i dont even think you can buy military grade nvg.

i'll just be picking up the normal plastic boxed copy i think ;)
 
You can buy cheap gen 0.5 (some argue its 1 not .5) for under £100, gen 1 I think is about 100-500 quid... Latest gen your looking at thousands upon thousands.

Even though I have Gen 0.5 scope and NV gen 1 (or 0.5 can't remember -.-) I will be getting this, it looks so cool!

That's not true, I had a collectors edition version of Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360. It came in a coloured card box, with the game inside it in the normal jewel case and it has a book full of conceptual artwork. :)

Back to the topic though, I'm not sure wether this would really be worth me buying. I usually get the collectors edition's of games that I intend on keeping, I think this game is going to be something special so I'll probably buy the "Hardened" version. I don't really see the sense in paying extra for a box that is essentially the collectors edition but with a pair of goggles and a stupid rubber head to put them on.
