I cant quite belive what im reading here. The police are going to fine me and give me three points for doing.... wait for it....

34mph in a 30 limit. I walk 4 mph.

And undoubtedly there will be many who will say 'so what, you broke the law' - but lets be realistic. Anyone and i mean anyone could go 4mph over 30mph. Its NOT like i was doing 40 or more.

Just 4mph and i get fined. Its stuff like this that makes the public HATE the traffic policing system and all its money making evilness.

Anyway, what happens now? I sign the form for 'yes it was me driving' send it back and then what?

I sympathise but where do we draw the line?
5 mph over? 6? 8? 9? The line has to be drawn somewhere.

Unlucky really. Some forces have a 10% + x MPH guidelines, and only issue tickets for speeds above that - so 30 limits may be 30MPH + 10% + 3-4MPH more, ending up closer to 37MPH, which is a bit too close to 40 for a 30 limit really.

Any idea if it was a fixed camera or a mobile van that got you?
