What's your weight and height?

There is no such thing as a fast/slow metabolism by the way. Ok ok, there are exceptions to every rule where hypometabolism and hypertabolisms exist (slow and fast) but these are rare and typically linked to other conditions/issues.

Typically it's because such people either just simply do not eat enough, or fidget and are more active than they realise. Those that have a "slow" metabolism, typically eat more than they realise, and are not as active as they think they are.

I'm afraid that's the plain simple truth. The majority (I don't know the percentage but it's very much the majority i.e. pretty much everyone) have a very typical basal metabloic rate (BMR) which fluctuates a little up and down, but well within normal tollerances, hypo and hypermetabolisms are rare.

That I'm afraid is the fact of the matter!

trust me there is nothing normal about my metabolism, i eat more everyone i know, fact right there for lunch everyday (i work in a bakery) i will have like two pasties and a cream cake of some sort (i dont have enough toime for anymore). it like a weird 'my family ' thing all of the males are well skinny and tall and at about 26 get normal sized lol. my uncle is ike 6'8 and i have no idea how my stone but he must be well heavy but at my age he was just as skinny.

My wife is the same, can eat anything and complains bitterly about not being able to put on weight. She is always worrying about stuff though like the kids, her job, etc etc and I wonder if there is anything that can be attributed to burning off calories due to 'nervous energy' ?

People who claim they can eat anything, cant :o they just underestimate how much they eat..as freefaller said..

they should spend a day with a fattie and see how much they eat :o

@Sneaky - Absolutely you can.

@Eliot - it could be that you are one of the very very few misnomers out there, but I doubt it, you're either expending more energy than you realise, or although you're consuming a lot it may not be enough to cause a calorie surplus. :)

5ft 11 and loitering around the 15 1/2 stone mark. Considering I was at a fighting weight of around 21st last Jan, I think it's going in the right direction :)

You're clinically underweight by quite a way, you need to gain 20lbs minimum.

Also, **** you twiggy :p

It's ok though, his girlfriend looks like Megan Foxx apparently. She must love runts or something...dunno...

Funnily enough, no pics were provided.

a lot of fat people on here..

6'2
9 stone

I'm the same height and I think I would actually be dead if I weighed that little, I would have to lose 44% of my mass, you must have incredibly narrow shoulders, waist and a small chest to manage to be that size/weight.
