Ive just aquired through work 2 quadro fx 3450 graphics cards and thought for a laugh id try them in sli, ive no idea if there running in sli or not, gpu-z says no but ive never used quadro's before so dont know if its the same as geforce? i know there not going to be the best performers in the world but as they were free i thought id give em a whirl

They are quite ancient cards..based on the 6600GT I believe...I think they will operate in SLI...though even in SLI they are pretty much terrible.

yeah but as they were free i thought id just have a try anyway, cant seem to find any enable sli tab in nv cp i thought they were 6800 based?

6800 PCI-e I think (with pipelines unlocked).

6800 + SLI didn't really work too well back in the day and I don't think even with newer drivers its still a big improvement... you may also actually need the SLI bridge with these cards to get SLI to work.

EDIT: You may also need to flash them back/use rivatuner to adjust device ID to the equivalent 6800 card to get SLI to work as a preliminary look at the drivers appears to not include the quadro in the list of SLI supported cards.

edit

"What NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards can work together in an SLI configuration?
NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600, 5500, 4600, 4500, 4400, 3500, 3450, 3400, 1500, 1400, 560, 550, 540 and 350 cards are SLI enabled and can work in an SLI configured multi-GPU system. Two identical cards are required for SLI Frame Rendering and SLI FSAA ."

Yeah the cards physically support SLI - but at a glance it doesn't appear the 3450 is in the multi GPU supported ID list but I could be missing something.

What is the SLI Enabled/Disabled setting in the nVidia control panel set to?

cant see that bit

AFAIK Physically theres nothing to stop them... you might need to change the device ID using rivatuner to the 6800 equivalent tho to get it to work...
