Just upgraded to a AMD Phemon 955 from a dual core 4200+ OC @2.8 which was being cooled by a Zalman CNPS9500 cooler which never went over 60*C ish when folding :)
Now i've got my 955 running at stock with the zalman cooler when folding am hiting 52*C thats with out folding on the Gfx card and the hotter weather which we have had recently. (With the hotter weather im getting 56*C)

With these temps theres not much room for a high overclock i was hoping for around 3.8/3.9GHz. So im looking at putting her under water cooling

This is what i've been thinking about getting and monting the rad at the back of my Antec 900 with a push/pull config

Will it be better then my Zalman atm i've got, and will the 120 rad cool enough for a good OC ??
(Only planning on watering the cpu atm i would need a bigger case to w/c the Graphics card )

What do you guys think ?

Im not to sure on amd stuff, but i use the swiftech H20 - 120 kit, which is basicly more or less like what ur getting, just rad/res is one unit, waterblock/pump is one unit. and that allows me to clock my E5200 to 4.1ghz.

The set up ur planning will be better then the zalman yes, but not a massive difference in idle temps, but it will keep ur load temps lower then the zalman could.

I would suggest getting one of these if ur planning to put it out the back of ur case.

And also why not for a few £ more get this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-021-XS&groupid=701&catid=193&subcat=1041

as it will be better then a single 120 radiator, and if u really wanted could do push/pull for even better performance.

Im planning to mount the rad inside the back of the case with two Enermax Magma on it. Well my whole case is full with Magmas :)

Swiftech H20 looks good it would do the job nice, but theres probably not much room the expansion/upgrades.

Ah i see..

The H20 - 120 and 220 kits are easily upgradeably, i chose the 120 kit as i was totally new to water cooling, and like most i was like wtf when i saw all the different stuff lol. One thing i would say about the compact kits though is the tubing i found was not all that good, so i replaced it with thicker walled tubing, apart from that they are very good.

You just have to bare in mind these kits are not high end water, well the swiftech apex ultima kits are more high end then the other kits though, but are double the price.

Im in the process of slowly upgrading my kit, will still use some of the old kit though.. As woody suggested a double rad probably would be best though, i use a single one atm, but that kinda his holding back my overclocks to 4.1ghz due to heat.

im thinking maybe start with the kit in my first post pic then later on i can add double rad to the loop not 100% sure wear i would mount it tho :(

whichever rad you go for, best to put it outside the back of the case...I've had to do this with my watercooling for my 360 rad...if you want to see just click on the links in my sig...especially the 4870X2 one...and you will see what I mean... :D

the black ice one is better of the 3, but there is'nt much difference really between the xspc one and the swiftech on.

Also to mount outside ur case u can use things like that radbox i linked earlier, or the things in CK's 4870X2 build log, can't link to them or name them as there not from OC'ers lol.

And honestly for £40 u would spend on that black ice 120 rad you could get a 240 rad easily.

Strange allocation of funds. You've gone for about the most rubbish radiator you could, about the best pump, and a tenner of fluid when 60p of distilled water will cool better.

The radiator is perhaps the most important part of the loop, and you're spending more on the reservoir that you don't even need than on the radiator. At the least get a good 120mm radiator, I'm guessing the antec 900 isn't so well laid out for water, you don't want to cut it up and don't want an external radiator?

I would have to agree with jon, the rad is'nt the best really, ok it will do the job but probably not as well as you would be hoping..

@Jon
As im still a relative noob to water, if you used just distilled water would you need to add something like this "10ml PT Nuke Concentrated Biocide", can't link to it forum rules =(.

i don't really want to cut my antec 900 up :(
Extenal mounted rad maybe because i was thinking of mounting and 360 rad to the side of my desk but i would have to cut the desk up a bit but thats ok i dont mind doing that and i could use some Quick Release Bulkhead Clicky so that i can move my pc from under my desk :)

2 or 3 drops max or easier to get a "Silver Coil (Anti Algae)"

CK61938 :) nice build :)

yes thats what i was im planing to do with my 900 what you're done with your 1200 and rad mounted on the 2 back fans but for me just having 120 rad and push and pull :)

just been looking at rads again and i think i'll go with the swiftech rad :D

Thanks bradley, that will save me abit of £'s with my next build lol..

@Rich

You could do what i did when i mounted my 120 rad outside the back of my antec 300, i just took out a pci blanking plate and bent the serperater bar abit so it did'nt impede the tube, then used edging trim to protect the tubes...

Or better still google this "PCI Slot cover with 2 x G1/4" Passthrough Connections" no messing about needed. Wish i had spotted them before i did my messy diy job :o

or should i just try the Thermalright

or maybe

Prolimatech Megahalems + Prolimatech Retention Kit For AM2

would my water cooling stuff in my first post beat one of these top end air-coolers ??

Carefull when adding further metals to a loop. PTNuke is copper Sulphate which will not interfere with your copper block, brass/copper rads etc as they are close to gether on the metalurgy table. Although silver is still relatively close by it's still worth considering alternatives if possible.
