My new pen

It doesn't matter how well the body is engineered, it'll still feel like any other £2.50 rollerball from partners on the paper.

Sorry, but servicing? What? What can go wrong, it's a pen?

Well the weight of the pen means it feels a little different to a regular £2.50 one, but the ink coming out is the same for sure. But that is like saying a £5K Rolex tells the time the same as £5 Casio.

I believe the servicing consists of replacing the spring inside, checking the thread on the cap is still working and giving it a good polish!

Its no different to you lot buying expensive watches when you cang et one for a couple quid that does the same job. Its just a hobby for him:)

Think both of them are daft, don't wear a watch and seriously who actually writes in this day and age? Only time I had to use a pen was to sign a couple of forms... And then this was first time in... many years :o.

You know that scene in American Psycho where they are all huddled around a table comparing business cards.

I have seen a room full of grown men do that with pens.

I swore on that day I will forever use the humble bic.

Here's my pen:

2 Tone body.
Ultra light weight polymer design.
Transparent ink level indicator.
Complex hexagonal shape for improved grip.
Gold plated nib for ultra pen to paper connectivity.

Beat that!

Lmao.... £125 for a pen.... you've being mugged.

Think being mugged means loosing something and not really gaining something, he did gain a pen. I do get the fact that people like toys, I mean I loved my electric train set when I was 8. Thought that was the *****... you know what, screw work, I am off to look for electric model train sets, since all those years, they got to have improved!

Hooray for cack-handed left-handedness on the forums :)

It is a right pain in the backside. I'd love a fountain pen, but the angle I hold the nib at means it doesn't write well and the rest of my trailing hand smudges all the ink.

Sometimes I wish they'd done to me at school what they did to my father and tie my left hand behind my back during lessons to force me to be able to write with my right hand.

Yes but an electric train set is much better than a pen.....

seriously who actually writes in this day and age?

Well if you ever have the need to attend meetings for work, how do you make notes? Do you not want a record of the pertinent points for you, know what actions you took away or ever need to consult your own personal record of what was discussed at a later date?

I see more and more in the office people getting laptops out to take notes, but it gets ridiculous when there's ten of you sat round a table and you can't see anyone because they're ducked down behind the screen typing. There's still a role to play for good old pen and paper IMO.

Nice pen there mate :) I don't suffer from the left handed disease and can use fountain pens. I can feel the difference between the £10 Parker, £40 Watermans and £150 Mont Blanc: the ink flows smoother, the nib is less scratchy and the pen feels nicer to use in general, so I can understand why you would get a nicer pen. Looks great.
