ok i have just made a short list of games + release dates ill be looking to get this year and next and want to add to this :D any suggestions?

NFS - Shift 2009 Sep 18
Bioshock 2 2009 Oct 30
COD - MW2 2009 Nov 10
L4D2 2009 Nov 17
mafia 2 ???? TBA
Diablo 3 2010 TBA
 
Assassins Creed 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and uhh dunno what else is out now since Bioshock 2 out next year now. Maybe mass effect 2 this year also.
 
Wolfenstein, Operation Flashpoint 2 : Dragon Rising, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Bioshock 2. There are others too.
 
Just going to take them as they come. I try not to fall in to the hype that often surrounds new games, as more often then not they fail to live up to the hype.

I've been keeping an eye on Operation Flashpoint II, that looks very nice and is coming along nicely.

The big Blizzard release this year, should be fantastic.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II looked fairly good from the trailer, but most things do :p

Dont see anything exciting much this year, Supreme commander 2 is due Spring 2010, bioshock 2/max payne 3 and starcraft 2 all delayed till 2010 I belive... only be the usuals like another cod game this fall...

They need to bring out a new engine on BF3, and have the ability to webcam your face onto the soliders and just have a next generation leap in graphics/physics and gameplay and release it by Xmas 2009.
See not asking much ;)
 
This year,
Will give Champions Online, 04/09/2009, a try during open beta before deciding. Losing interest in mmo's, will most likely try a few like The Agency, APB, SW:TOR, Jumpgate and Black Prophecy if I get the chance though during beta's.
Wolfenstein, 21/08/2009, although need to look into the ingame gold pieces thing that an online shop mentions in the description, micro transactions to buy weapons and equipment? :/
Dragon Age, 23/10/2009, almost certain.
Borderlands, 23/10/2009, probably.
Max Payne 3, 30/10/2009, probably, need to find out more about it though just in case.
Modern Warfare 2, 10/11/2009, probably.

Looking towards next year, what should be safe sequels;
