Finch - Letters to you.

Can't you see that I wanna be there with open arms?
It's empty tonight
And I'm all alone
Get me through this one

Do you notice I'm gone?
Where do you run to so far away?

I want you to know that I miss you, I miss you so
I want you to know that I miss you, I miss you so

I'm writing again, these letters to you
On much I know
But I'm not sleeping and you're not here
The thought stops my heart

Do you notice I'm gone?
Where do you run to so far away?

I want you to know that I miss you, I miss you so
I want you to know that I miss you, I miss you so

No more looking
I've found her

I want you to know that I miss you, I miss you so
I want you to know that I miss you, I miss you

I've gone away

Possibly not the most suitable genre for a funeral but I think the words are quite suitable and I think its a fantastic song. As mentioned above sorry for your loss :(

Mother I Miss you. John Tesh I think it was.

My Mum had it at my grandmas funeral. Kills me every time I hear it now which thankfully is quite rare.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I like the lyrics to offspring. but somehow couldn't see it being played at a funeral
When the siren‘s flash is gone
And we‘re left to carry on
All the memories are too few

When the pastor‘s music plays
And that casket rolls away
I could live again if you
Just stay alive for me

Please stay now, you left me here alone – it‘s the end of the line
Please stay I can‘t make it on my own – it‘s the end of the line
Make it on my own
It‘s the end of the line

Now that you are dead and gone
And I‘m left to carry on
I could never smile cause you
Won‘t stay alive for me

Finally,
Your final resting day
Is without me
I weep
And think of brighter days
What about me?

You can‘t take back, the one mistake
That still lives on after life it takes
In that one day, that changed our lives
And bitter memories are left behind

Band of Horses - The Funeral

Saw it on the cycling video the other day, not sure on the lyrics but almost made me well up if it wasn't for the awesome cycles.

Say Hello To Heaven

The last verse is absolutely awesome IMO

I never wanted to write these words down for you
with the pages of phrases of all the things we'll never do
So I blow out the candle
and I put you to bed
Since you can't say to me now
how the dogs broke your bone
there's just one thing left to be said

I always thought that funerals should be a celebration of ones life and as such a more positive selection should be chosen. For example, my step father wishes to be cremated to Disco Inferno and my real father wants Stealers Wheel: Stuck in the middle with you.

My choices generally based on what's in my library at the moment are:

The Funeral - Band of Horses
Brand New Start - Paul Wellar
Breathe Me - Sia
Colorblind - Counting Crows
Hurt - Johnny Cash
Something in the Way - Nirvana
Everybody Hurts - R.E.M

Whilst they are not the greatest songs they are funerally, kind of.
